"no, ben! you don't fry the egg then put it in! you cut a hole in the middle of the bread then crack the egg into it!"

he mimicked me annoyingly but did it nonetheless, my sandwich was already finished, i sat at the table, watching him finish his.

i took another bite, "that's it, benny, you got it, mate."

"mate? are you mocking my english ass?"

i smiled at him, my cheeks full, "um no,"

he stuck his tongue out and continued his sandwich, i groaned then stood up quickly, shouldering him away.

"no, no, no! stop! damn bitch,"

ben pinched my waist in retaliation, i scrunched my nose and fixed his meal as best i could.

i added mayonnaise and a slice of pepper jack cheese that i sent ben down to the shop for, then took it off the pan.

i assembled his sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and rashers, then cut it down the middle.

he watched me doing this, carelessly twirling a knife with his fingers, i handed him his sandwich on a ceramic plate, he took it with a smile then sat down at the table across from me.

once we finished eating i checked the time, "oh, it's almost six."

he shrugged, taking another bite from his sandwich, "you don't have to leave now, do you?"

there was a hint of sadness in his voice.

i smiled reassuringly, "of course not."

once our meal was finished, we decided to go out, walk around the city, wasting the time away, walking in and out of shops, until we got to the largest shopping centre in the city.

we walked inside, the area was packed, loud and buzzing with halloween fever.

ben smiled as we walked through the large shopping centre, weaving through clothing racks and making silly faces when we found something we liked.

we tried on stupid masks in the halloween section of a particular shop, i tried on a green, slimy looking monster while ben plucked the werewolf from it's rack.

"dude we'd look so dope going to david's party like this."

ben nodded, his eyes smiling through the ugly mask, "we should buy them."

i smiled again, taking the mask from my face, "oh my god yes,"

so ben and i bought the masks, a slimy green monster for me and a werewolf for him, we walked into a cute sweet shop.

"hey benny, lets find something in here that's as sweet as.."

"'as sweet as you'?"

"as sweet as me."
