"Avengers Assemble!"

I had my hammer.

Iron Man had his suit.

War Machine had his guns.

Captain America had his shield.

Hawkeye had his bow

Agent Coulson had his sunglasses. Ok, and his gun, but his sunglasses are cooler.

Bruce and Natasha were on some secret mission with Nick Fury regarding H.Y.D.R.A.

Spiderman swing on buildings and joined us. We were ready.

"I'm here, the party can start." Spiderman said."Let's roll."

We were investigating an alien report on Staten Island. We had left Billy back at the tower. He called himself "Captain Marvel" or "Shazam" but I still didn't trust him, after all he's only 12 years old.

"Well," Cap said when arrived, "No sign of aliens."

Just then a few kids stepped from around the corner. They looked exhausted and one, the boy, looked scared.

"Help!" the older girl cried, "the aliens, they took my brother."

"Where are they now?" I asked raising my hammer. The younger girl simply pointed up.

"Well, what are we supposed to do now?" I wondered.

Agent Coulson pointed to a conveniently located alien spaceship that the kidnappers must have not needed. "We follow," he simply declared.

Suddenly, I had a bad feeling about this whole alien business. I quietly asked Tony, "Is the older girl over there the one you gave the tour to?"

"It looks like her. I gave it to her and her brother, I think, was also there. Why?"

"What did you show them?"

"Everything, but there was one room in particular they asked to see."

Captain America overheard us, "Did you show it to them?"

"Oh yeah, it was just our armory."

Red flags went off in my head, "And," I asked, "did you hide the Tesseract?"

Tony put two and two together, "Son of a gun, her brother's not in space. He's taking our stuff."

"And we left a 12 year old boy to stop him."

We sent Spiderman, War Machine, and Agent Coulson up into space to appease the kids, while Iron Man, Hawkeye, Captain America, and I hightailed back to prevent a robbery.

I was the first to arrive, and what I saw shocked me. There were two full grown men who looked like gods battling it out with lightning. One was about 6 feet tall and wielded no weapon, but was calling lightning down from the sky, destroying the 12th floor wall, to strike his opponent. This man wore a stunning white cape that had a lightning bolt embedded onto it. Actually, it appeared that an actual lightning bolt, electricity and all, was part of his cape. While this man was clean shaven, the other man had a full beard.

The second warrior, although dressed in mortal clothes, appeared more experienced. His hair and beard were white, not with age, but power. This man seemed to clearly be winning the fight.

"Shazam," the man with a beard thundered, "It's been a while."

"Yes, Lord Zeus, it has been many years since you and your Olympians tried to hide our existence. But now we have returned and I have claimed a better form and a new host." Shazam shot Zeus with an extra charged bolt of lightning.

"A twelve year old boy is no adequate host," Zeus retorted as he caught the bolt, twirled it like a baton, an split it apart releasing a massive energy pulse that destroyed the floor beneath us.

It appeared that Shazam was the other form of our friend Billy . I liked this form a lot better. As I fell I tried to make the connection between the annoying boy and the powerful god.

I hit the ground and landed in a kneeling position hidden behind one of the greek style pillars in the room. This appeared to be a side room, not the main room on the floor. This room was more cluttered that the other one had been. Overlooking New York was a massive glass window that curved around the entire west wall of the conference room. A solid wood table overlaid with glass was in the center of the room, like it was set up for a business meeting, but the room was so large it could have fit five of those tables. On the side of the room facing away from the wall, five greek style pillars stood.

Zeus and Shazam took their battle from bolts to lightning charged fists. I prepared to launch myself at Zeus, but a boy whom I hadn't seen earlier briefly torched me with fire, knocking me to the ground. He seemed to be working with Zeus. I turned my attention to the fire boy.

"Hey kid," I called as I got up, "Didn't your parents tell you not to play with fire?"

"I don't play with fire, hammer man," he smirked, "I fight with it." He sent a blinding stream of fire my way. It didn't stop. I could feel it engulfing my very being. Out of the corner of my eye I could see that Zeus and Shazam had resumed their lightning battle. One of them, Zeus I think, had a bloody nose that was bleeding gold. I must be seeing things. I was too weak to call for Shazam's help. Besides, he was preoccupied anyway. Hawkeye was guarding the perimeter. Iron Man and Cap were chasing our Tesseract thief. I was alone.

Suddenly a spaceship crashed through the glass and knocked Shazam into the fire boy. The elemental lightning and fire show ceased. After plowing over chairs, the ship was brought to a halt by the table, although the glass overlay was now shattered.

Two guys, a woman, and a younger girl, she was about fifteen, exited the spaceship. The older guy pulled out a glow-stick that appeared slightly dangerous. That fire must have messed up my brain. "you are now under arrest by the Galactic Senate. Your galaxy will soon be our property. He pulled out a strange looking device, "We have identified a Leo Valdez, Zeus, Shazam and a Thor in the room."

"Hmm, you missed one," a teenage boy with quite a few weapons stepped out of the shadows wearing a cloak similar to the one the other man wore. "My name is Rascal, and I roll with the Doctor. You gonna take my world? You'll have to go through me first."

The woman waved her hand at all of us, "You will all surrender your weapons."

I surprisingly wanted to give her Mjolnir, my hammer, all of a sudden. How could she hold it? Before long she had a master bolt, two daggers and a hammer. Rascal hadn't budged.

"Nice try, Aunt Saphorya," he started as he flipped back his hood, "but your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me."
