Aaron's P.O.V

Are you kidding me?!

I was in the elevator, waiting for it to get to the floor of my office, but it was so slow. I counted the seconds till I'd see my best friend again.

After what felt like an eternity, the elevator finally reached my office floor. I dropped off my stuff at the office and walked to the adjascent office to say hi to LaToya and hand her the box of designer chocolates I picked up at a store yesterday, with a bouquet of flowers, a 'thank you' gesture for yesterday.

I knocked on the door of the office, but there was no answer. I tried again and there was still no answer. I opened the door, but her desk was empty. I checked, but not even her bag was there, meaning she hadn't come in today.

I picked up my green and black cased Samsung S10 and called her.
"Good morning, Tee. How was your night?" I asked.

"I had a good night. You?" She replied. She still sounded sleepy, like she had just woken up.

"I'm cool. I was just wondering why you didn't come in to work today?" I asked.

"Don't worry. I'll be there later today, but for now, I need some rest. I woke up feeling quite sick and tired, with a banging headache. I threw up thrice already and I'm feeling sick to my stomach." She told me.

"That's terrible. You don't have to come to work today. Or tomorrow. Take as much time as you need." I told her. I wouldn't want her to put any strain on her fragile self.

"Nah. Mom went on a trip with her cousin, Tarysse and my grandma. Tori is at a friend's sleepover. The house will be so lonely and boring." She declined.

"That's okay! I can come over later, right now, or even anytime you want me to." I offered.

"That'd be nice. We could watch Netflix and I won't be bored anymore." She seemed cheered up.

"Great! I'll be at your place in half an hour. Bye, Tee!" I smiled.

"Bye, Ron." She said, before ending the call.

I got the box of chocolates, the bouquet of lavendars and marigolds (her favourite flowers) and my car keys, and rushed out of the office into my black Mercedes G-Wagon. I couldn't wait to see her again!

I took a few turns and stopped by at a supermarket. I only went there to pick up a few things for her, like; muffins, a big tub of cotton candy ice cream and lots of chocolate chip cookies.

After buying what I wanted at the supermarket, I went straight to LaToya's house to spend some time with her.

I finally got to her duplex and rang the doorbell. I waited for about a minute, before she opened the door.

Even while she was sick, she stunned me. Her wavy brown hair was tied up in a messy bun, her face was flushing and she had eyebags. She was in her cute blue and white unicorn pyjamas and adorable comfy panda slippers. She yawned and greeted me, inviting me inside the house.
