"If I had to choose between my world and you, I would choose my world, because my world is you."

LaToya's P.O.V

The moment my eyes met with his, my heart raced. I was filled with unexplainable joy, but at the same time, I wished I hadn't come back to New York.

After the meeting, my plan was to avoid any sort of conversation between Aaron and I. Unfortunately, he cornered me, and persuaded me to talk to him in his office. At first, I was eager to walk away, using the 'I don't have time for this' line. Then, he spoke words that were really all I wanted to hear.

He still loved me. He really still loved me. He said he was empty without me there. His sweet words could literally make me melt. I gushed at the mere mention of my name from his mouth. I felt heartbroken that I left all of this affection behind to go to London, but I didn't want it to seem like I actually missed him. I missed his sweet words, his delicate touch, his charming smile and his lingering kisses.

Not to lie, I considered quitting and staying with Aaron in New York, but it all seemed like too much. I stared right into his emerald eyes and every single feeling came rushing back. I was intoxicated by his effortless charm, I fell in love with Aaron Rayes all over again.

"At least, let me take you out." He offered, still hopeful about getting me back.

"Okay, fine." I agreed, acting like I was only saying yes because of an indirectly imposed obligation.

"Great! I'll pick you up at 6pm." He said, excitedly, with a slight celebratory tone.

"Okay. But I need to get home early. My flight back to London is at 5am tomorrow." I reminded him, acting like the attraction was one sided, whereas, I was hardly breathing.

"No problem!" He smiled, putting a hand in his pocket. It was exhilarating the way he was agreeing to every one of my conditions.
He opened the door, finally letting me out. I grinned inwardly at the thought of an evening spent with him.

Almost bouncing with excitement and anxiety at the same time, I found my way to my mom's house. Smiling from ear to ear, I rang the doorbell. My sister, Tori, opened the door wearing a black camisole tucked into her gray Jordans sweatpants. Her blonde hair was tied up in a messy bun. Her eyes widened as she saw me, and she enveloped me in a tight bear hug.
"LaToya!" She squealed. "You didn't tell us you were coming back from London!" She smiled excitedly.

"I didn't want to ruin the surprise." I smiled. "Where's mom?" I asked her, walking into the living room as she shut the door.

"She's in the kitchen, baking cookies for a few friends of hers." She pointed a perfectly manicured finger to the kitchen.

"Okay. I'm in love with those nails! Are they acrylic?" I said, as she held out her hand to me, both of us strolling over to the kitchen.

"Yeah. The process was so easy. The manicurist just glued them on and did the nail art, after they were already glued on." She explained. "Georgie knows a girl." She shrugged.

"Cool. If I was staying any longer than a day, I'd say we'd both get our nails done together. But, I promise the next time I come back from London, I'll stay longer." I explained, as I watched my mom with a pair of headphones on as she busily mixed ingredients for her signature choco-chip cookies. I tapped her shoulder, anticipating the surprise soon to be written on her face. She turned around to see who tapped her and she immediately took off her headphones and hugged me tight upon seeing me.

"Why didn't you tell us you'd be back in town, honey?" She asked, assessing my appearance.

"I wanted to surprise you guys." I replied, smiling.
