Chapter 6: Unfinished love story
Author's Note: Before proceeding, I just want to say that this chapter will be long. I just think I need to give justice to Albert, on how they met and what is the story behind their break up, and why Prickly Ash seemed not to get him off her mind all this time.
Ok! JUST ENJOY! (I HOPE SO)
Chapter 6: Unfinished love story
Actually, Albert was my first boyfriend and I also thought (before) that he would be my last. I will never forget the day we met. It was still so fresh to me.(The thing that I had said to Tony that I had many boyfriends before Albert while we were texting was just a lie ;) )
It all started when I was a freshman. On the first day of school, everything was new; everyone wanted to make a first good impression on our classmates and teachers. When it was time to introduce myself, I stood in front, with my heart almost ready to jump out of my chest. I was the second to the last person who would be introducing myself.
"Good morning Ma'am, good morning classmates. I am Prickly Ash Rober. It's nice to meet you all." I said as I flashed the smile that I had practiced for almost a week and hurriedly went back to my seat.
"Okay, thank you, Prickly Ash.. next.." Mrs. Laarni, our adviser, said. Then, a boy stood up. Based on my point of view, he was quite short for his age. He wore a pink t-shirt, which suited him very well due to his fair complexion. He had an innocent expression on his face yet something in my mind kept on telling me that his innocence was dangerous. I had to admit that he stood out among my other male classmates.
"Hello everyone, my name is Albert Rivera and I am single." He said while I heard some of my girl classmates giggling. Seriously? I think he was just too proud of himself for actually telling our whole classmates that he was single. Like, who cares?? As if we wanted to know if he's single or not. Duh! But, why am I so bitter? He was just giving information about himself.
"Okay. Thank you." Mrs. Laarni said as Albert went back to his seat, which was beside me. I looked around and could tell that my female classmates, constantly making jealous looks at me. I wanted to tell them "Guess what? You can eat him. He was just so proud of himself" and I really didn't like people like that.
"Okay, I guess that's all for today. I will just leave you here. You just wait for your next teacher. Goodbye class."
"Goodbye, ma'am." Said the whole class as we stood up.
"Hey, I'm Albert," Albert said while reaching his hand to me.
"I know," I said to him and because I did not shake his hand, he just put it down. I could see that he was quite embarrassed.
"So? What's your name?" he asked.
"Are you listening or not? I just introduced myself to everyone and now, here you are, asking me what my name is. Seriously?" I said while rolling my eyes. I wanted to show him that not all people liked him and not all things were done by charms and wits. I was just being true to myself and to him also.
"Okay. You're from what school?" he said, trying to start a conversation.
"Why do you have to know? Are you a police or something?" I replied. He was so annoying and all I wanted him was to leave me alone.
