If you are someone who regularly votes and comments on the stories you read then you can close this because it doesn't apply to you.
Most of you who read our stories on Wattpad and other sites do not interact at all and tbh it is really frustrating because we don't know if you like what you are reading or not. Most writers on Wattpad, especially fanfic writers do not get paid, we don't get anything from this at all. So called 'silent readers' are not helpful, how can we know you are enjoying our stuff if you don't tell us? It does not take more than a second to vote on a chapter after you've read it, or 10-15 seconds to leave a comment. Our readers interactions and knowing that people are enjoying what we are doing is the main motivation for most of us to carry on sharing our work with you despite not profiting from it. I am seeing fics on here with 200k-300k reads but not even 10% of that in interaction from the readers.
You might not think we care about your comments or think your votes don't matter to authors who have a regular following but we do care and they do matter. Honestly just a nice comment from one person can be really motivating.
So please show your support to fanfic authors :)
