"I miss you" Jennie said softly as she sat on the grass on a red and white blanket. "I miss you too" Lisa replied pulling food from a picnic basket as she sat beside the slayer. Jennie began to giggle before taking a sip from a little juice box, "no you don't". The Thai sighed deeply as she lay back, leaning on her elbows, "do you really believe that or do you just want to believe that?". The black haired girl rolled her eyes, "oh shut up you're not a psychiatrist". Lisa smirked, "no, I'm really not. But I think I asked a pertinent question", she took a bite of a sandwich, it was rotten and covered in flies, "I think I'm right, you don't want to believe that I miss you".
Jennie leaned back in a similar position to the Thai, "of course I don't want you to miss me, you're a vampire". "That's not what I mean" Lisa replied. Jennie sighed again, "I know". Jennie removed a small cooked chicken from the basket and set it down, it was golden and cooked to perfection, she pulled off a wing and began to eat it. Lisa did the same with a leg but once the vampire picked it up it turned rotten, crawling with maggots. The slayer looked down at her own chicken wing, it was still fine. She frowned when she noticed all the grass near Lisa's side was brown and dead and the flowers near her had wilted and lost their petals. "You're dead" Jennie said abruptly, "you look like a person, but you're not. It's hard to remember that sometimes". Lisa looked at Jennie briefly and shrugged as she continued to happily eat her maggot riddled rotten chicken leg.
"Jen?" Lisa asked. "Yeah?" she replied. Lisa put the rotten chicken bone down and wiped her mouth, "why are we by the woods?". Jennie looked at the large forest that sat a few yards away from the girls, "I-...I don't know. I've never been here before". The Thai turned her head and pointed at the town in the distance behind them, "I'm surprised you haven't brought us there". "I guess I don't want to think about that" Jennie replied, "Lisa, why are you here?".
The blonde tilted her head as she looked into the forest, squinting her eyes as she tried to focus on whatever she was seeing, "there's something moving behind the trees" she said curiously. Jennie sighed, "don't change the subject" she tapped the Thai's shoulder to get her attention, "why are you here?". Lisa smiled, "I'm always here dummy" the loud sound of the slayer's heartbeat thumped in the air around them, "this is where you keep me, isn't it?".
"You're cocky" Jennie replied. "You love me" Lisa said confidently with a wink. The slayer shook her head, "no I don't" she responded unconvincingly and in a bratty tone of voice. The vampire grinned as she pushed the black haired girl down onto her back and leaned over her, tickling her ribs, "yes you do, you love me. Kiss me" she said but Jennie blocked her and pushed her away. "No" the New Zealander replied firmly. "Why?" the Thai asked as she sat up. Jennie pulled a disgusted face, "you probably have maggot breath".
Both girls instantly started to giggle and laugh uncontrollably, putting their hands over their mouths as they tried to stop themselves laughing.
"I hate how much I miss you" Jennie said once she finally calmed down, "you're still all I think about even when I don't realise it. There's a permanent dull pain in my chest and it's you". "Sorry" Lisa replied casually. The slayer laughed ironically, "there you go again, saying things you don't mean and can't even feel". The blonde raised an eyebrow and tilted her head, "you think vampires can't feel? Is that what the Order tell you? I'm sure you've learned by now that you can't trust them". "But I can trust you?" the New Zealander snorted as she laughed. The vampire shook her head, "of course not" she turned to face Jennie and looked the girl straight in the eyes, "but I'm not claiming to be the good guy am I".
