today was the last day in the bahamas. we were leaving that night for our flight and decided to go snorkeling to enjoy our last day. i woke up around 7 and had to face the nearly impossible task of waking the one and only Zachary Dean Herron up. he never wants to get up in the morning. it's lowkey a problem but he's cute so it's fine. i jump on the bed and shake him.
"come on Herron, time to get up." he doesn't move.
"don't be difficult. if you don't get up soon, we're all leaving without you." i continue to shake him. he slowly starts to move. "come on baby get up." he rubs his eyes.
"goodmorning, beautiful." i smile.
"even though you're a pain in the ass to wake up, you make up for it by being so dang cute." he smiles and reaches up to wrap his arms around me pulling me back down on the bed. i giggle and snuggle up against him. i lay with him for about 5 minutes then i decide that we actually need to get up and get ready.
"come on, we need to get ready, we're meeting the other guys in 30 minutes." he squirms and let's out a loud groan.
"fineee." i kiss his cheek and grab my stuff to get changed in the bathroom. after i change and put my hair into two dutch braids i walk out to see Zach sitting shirtless on the bed. "hey beautiful." he looks up at me and smiles.
"someone's in a better mood." i sit on his lap and wrap my arm around his neck.
"i'm always in a better mood when i'm with you." i smile.
"you're so cute." i lean in to kiss his lips gently when we get interrupted by a loud knock. i giggle. "that must be them." i walk over to open the door and Jack was standing there with his hands on his hips.
"hey girl." i laugh.
"hey Jack. What are you doing?"
"we are all waiting on you guys."
"oh, right, sorry." Zach and I grab our stuff and follow Jack out to the lobby where everyone else is waiting for us.
"took you long enough." jonah sighs.
"sorry, Zach wouldn't get up." they all laugh.
"yep, that sounds like Zach. Let's go!" corbyn says as he motions for us to all follow him. we hop in an uber to drive the to spot where we are going snorkeling. after a 10 minute drive we arrive. we all hop out of the van. we enter a building where we all get our gear on and they talk to us about the rules and all that boring stuff. after that we all load onto a boat that will take us out to the coral reefs. it was a fairly short boat ride. once we reach the location we take turns jump out and into the cool water. Daniel and Breckin jump out first.
"AHHH!" breckin, being extremely dramatic (as usual) screams. i laugh. next is Jonah and Corbyn. they both yell as they hit the water. Jack grabs both mine and Zach's hand and throws the three of us in together.
"ahhhh!" i scream for i was not expecting to be thrown in as i was. once we hit the water i instantly feel the relaxing and cooling sensation of the gentle water. i had previously applied a lot of sunscreen because it was brought to my attention that it is common for people's backs, legs, and booties to get burnt while snorkeling. so this allowed me to glide through the water. Zach grabbed my hand i looked over and he pointed downward towards the most adorable group of sea turtles ever. i smiled so big. they were so cute, anyone who knows me at all knows that i LOVE sea turtles. like a lot. we continue to swim around and look at the coral and different types of marine life in that specific area. it was so beautiful. all the various kinds of fish were so cool. this was such an amazing experience. i was so amazing by everything around me that i almost didn't notice everyone swimming back to the boat until Zach grabbed my hand. after i got back onto the boat i took a deep breath and sat down. i look out over the ocean and smiled.
"did you have fun?" Zach sits down beside me and rests his hand on my thigh.
"yes, that was... wow. all the fish were so pretty, the coral was amazing, and don't even get me started on the turtles! it made it 10 times more fun since the water here is so clear and beautiful! i love it so much!" he smiles but doesn't say anything, but instead looks into my eyes. "what?" he shakes his head.
"nothing, it's just i love seeing you this happy. and when you geek out over the sea animals, it's so cute! have you ever thought about volunteering at a marine hospital?"
"yea! i have actually!"
"that's awesome,do you want to go to college after high school?"
"yea, i want to get a major in marine biology. i feel like it would be so much fun and it's exactly what i want in a job."
"that's perfect for you." once we arrive back to our resort we all start to pack. it didn't take that long to pack all of our stuff up. once everything is ready to go i look at my phone and see the time. we still had 15 minutes until our uber arrived to pick us up and drive us to the airport. i walk out the slide doors and sit on the little patio we had. it was really cute. Zach joins me shortly after.
"i'm gonna miss this." i may my head on his shoulder.
"me too." he sighs.
"we leave for tour in 5 days."
"i know. i'm so happy for you guys. i'm so proud of how far you've all come."
"i'm going to miss you so much."
"i'll miss you too baby, but let's just try to enjoy these few days left together before you leave."
"of course." a few minutes later our uber arrives and we all pile in with our luggage and head towards the airport. this trip was so amazing and much needed. i'm so blessed to be able to spend it with my bestfriends. i love them all so much.
