"when my dad and breckin's dad were in high school they were always competing against each other, in everything. academics, sports, girls. everything. it was usually harmless until things started to get heated. they began to prank each other. not stupid pranks that were harmless but bad harmful pranks. one day my dad decided enough was enough and planned to do the worst thing possible to any man. you know Breckin's aunt Carlie right?"
"yes."
"well, my dad started hooking up with her."
"you're kidding!" i was shocked.
"i really wish i was."
"omg!"
"anyway, my dad wanted Breckin's dad to see it happening so after their football games on fridays everyone usually went to the diner just outside of town to celebrate a win, knowing he would be there my dad took Carlie as his date and they were making out in the parking lot of the diner when Breckin's dad walked by and saw the two of them together. as you could probably guess this did NOT go down smoothly and they've been enemies ever since."
"woah, that's messed up." i don't know what to think.
"yeah i know, i was so mad at my dad after he told me."
"i have to tell my family about whatever this is sooner or later." he nods.
"yeah, i understand that, and there is no way i can fix the mistake my dad made 20 years ago. but luckily i'm not my dad and it's not my mistake to fix." he shrugs, i grab his hand and stroke it with my thumb.
"i guess my family is just going to have to get over the fact that i'm falling for you." he tilts my chin up towards him and gives me a long passionate kiss. "Traci and Kerry (breckin's parents) are away on a cruise at the moment so you can come over if you'd like." he smiles.
"i'd love that." he grabs my hand and we walk back to my jeep and drive home.
"i'm pretty sure my brother is home, and he can be a little bit overprotective when it comes to boys so make sure you're quiet."
"okay." he whispers, i lead him upstairs and i closed the door to my room quietly. for the next hour we snuggle on my bed, watch funny videos, and listen to Zach and his band Why Don't We's music. i was really enjoying my time with him until Drew walks into my room.
"Who is this?" asks Drew with a hint of anger in his eyes. i sit up.
"Oh hey Drew, this is Zack."
"How did you meet?"
"He's our new neighbor." he stares at Zach.
"Can i talk to you, Zach for a second?" asks Drew. i look at him.
"Drew don't be a jerk, i really like him."
"Calm down, Ash, i just want to talk to him." i roll my eyes. and walk out of my room.

Zach's p.o.v-
i watch as Ashley walks out of her room then i turn to face Drew.
"hi, i'm Zach." i say shortly.
"yeah i know."
"oh, yeah right. sorry, what did you want to talk to me about?" i was a little bit nervous because i didn't want Ashley's brother to hate me too. i have a really good feeling that she might be that someone special. i look up and see that Drew is stand right in front of me with his arms crossed.
"what are your intentions with my baby sister?" his eyes were fixed on mine.
"well, we just met but she's a really great girl."
"i could tell just by the way she looked at you that she sees something in you. so that means that if you hurt her or ever make he cry, you will regret it and that's a promise."
"trust me, i only want good for your sister." he nods slightly and walks out of her room. i sit there and think about how much this girl and her siblings have been through. honestly i don't blame Drew for being so protective, hell i wouldn't want some stupid boy to break Reese's heart. i'm never going to do anything to hurt Ashley, all she deserves is love. just then the most beautiful girl in the world walks in grinning.
"i just talked to Drew and he said that he liked you! and trust me it's hard to get him to like any boy i'm interested in!!" she gives me a big hug and i can't help but smile uncontrollably.
