ashley's pov
as we reach the backyard of my house Zach squeezes my hand gently and looks over at me.
"hey i have to go help Daniel with something really quick but i'll be back soon. i promise." he leans down to kiss my cheek gently and walks off towards Daniel. i walk over to the gazebo and sit down.
"hey, ash, how are you holding up?" i look up and see Breckin sit down beside me.
"oh you know, i'm doing great." i fake a smile.
"come on ashley, i'm you bestfriend you're clearly not great." i sigh.
"well what do you expect? your parents who are basically my parents hate the person who i'm falling for."
"don't worry, we'll get them to change their minds just like i did. i can really tell you both like each other very much." i blush a little.
"you really think he likes me?"
"duh, you'd be blind not to see it!" we both giggle.
"come on, don't let them ruin your night. let's go get some snacks." i smile.
"ugh, you know i can never say no to snacks." as we begin to walk over towards the snack table the music stops and a familiar voice floods the speakers. i look up towards the stage and see him.
Zach
"hey guys, sorry for interrupting the music but there is something really important i need to do." we make eye contact and he smiles then he looks over towards Breckin's parents. "Kerry, Traci, i can't fix the mistakes my father made when he was in high school and i can't change the fact that he hurt your family so much. but i can prove to you that i am nothing like him and i only mean good. so i got the whole band here with me to sing a song to one very special girl and to prove to you that she means so much to me." eyes begin to gaze in my direction and my face gets hot. "let's hit it guys" with that note the band begins to play the familiar tune of just to see you smile.

"you look so beautiful
you walked out of a dream
i never felt this way before
your eyes are all i need
to make forever feel like just a little while
i swear I'd walk, I'd run
I'd even learn to fly
just to see you smile
you can make the world stop
you can have it your way
just to see you smile"

after the song is over Zach walks off of the stage towards me and everyone is in awe starring at the two of us. Zach leans over and whispers in my ear, "hopefully that worked" i can't help but kiss him deeply and passionately.
this boy..
as soon as we break apart i notice Traci waving us over.
"come on." i grab his hand and we walk over toward the two adults. i notice tears in Traci's eyes.
"Zachary, that was beautiful. I'm so sorry for assuming you were instantly an awful person. You truly are an amazing guy. Please, just promise me you'll treat our girl well." I see Zach beaming beside me.
"of course, Mrs. Harner."
"Please, call me Traci." she then gathers Zach up into a warm hug.
"Eh hem, as for me, what you did for Ashley was really amazing. Even though your father caused so much stress in my life it doesn't mean you're a complete jerk after all. But don't you ever break her heart." Kerry lets out.
"you got it, i would never do anything to hurt her, Mr.Harner." he reaches over and the two guys shake hands.
"you can call me Kerry."
"Kerry, got it." i can't keep my excitement in any longer.
"Come on Zach, let's dance." i grab his hand and lead him over towards the dance floor, smiling ear to ear.
