Kai Imagine

You never really had anything special. You weren't very pretty--more of average looking--nor were you smart. You never were friends with those who were popular...in fact, you didn't have friends. Maybe it was those things that made you an easy target for bullies. Almost everyday a bunch of intimidating boys would follow you after school, shouting nasty comments at you and throwing pebbles. You'd always try and avoid them, but that would only mean being slapped when you would eventually get caught. The only class you felt you weren't so caved in and aware was math class. Still, you never felt like you could breathe properly and relax, feeling okay because of one boy who always seemed to watch you from the back. Kai. You felt uncomfortable, having eyes on you. He never had bothered you or done anything mean, but still you felt paranoid around him since he hung around the gang of boys who enjoyed to make you miserable. Once math class ended, you quickly got up to go home before they started bothering you again. You reached for you books when you heard an unfamiliar voice call you. "Y/N," you heard. You froze and turned around, finding Kai looking right at you, calling your name. You clenched your hands around the books, palms feelin sweaty. Your breathing quickened and you swallowed. You turned back around and quickly scurried out the classroom, heart pounding. You wondered if he was going to join his friends on the bullying. You bit down on your tongue and ran outside of the school into the alleyway, a shortcut to home. Your thoughts of Kai immediately went away when you stepped in, seeing the gang of boys who followed you around.

You cursed under your breath and shut your eyes, fear taking over. "Look what we got here," one of the boys snickered, kicking dust at you. "We earned ourselves a little loser." You dropped your books, losing all power in your hands from trembling so hard. Another boy approached you, twirling a piece of your hair around his finger, tugging it. You winced. "Please let me go," you whispered shakily. The group of boys all laughed obnoxiously. Then you felt the boy go let go of your hair an instead heard a groan and a thump. Your eyes widened and you immediately felt a presence behind you. Somebody took you from behind and put their arm around your shoulder. You looked up, horrified and saw Kai. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" he spat out angrily. The boy on the ground clutched his jaw and backed off to the group. "We're just messing around, Kai," he said. "It's nothing." Kai snarled and said, "It doesn't look like nothing. I thought I told you to back off. Run off now before I beat all of you." They all scowled and muttered in defeat as they separate off in their own ways, leaving you and Kai alone. Kai let go of you and looked at you to make sure you were okay. You collapsed to the floor and started breathing heavily, still in shock and terror. Kai stood helplessly as he watched you go through a panic attack. He kept on clenching and unclenching his fists, not knowing what to do. Then Kai suddenly crouched and leaned in, pressing his lips against yours. He kissed you deeply, taking your breath away. You clenched onto his shirt, still in fear.

He pulled away eventually and your panic attack ended. Your eyes stared at his face as you asked quietly, "Why'd you do that?" He was scared that you were angry at him and he scrambled back onto his feet stuttering, "I-I don't know. I just heard that when people have panic attacks..they need to breathe..and you were too busy not breathing..." You replied, "No, I mean...why'd you save me? How'd you even know?" He blinked. "You're more fragile than you look...I just...you captivated me, I guess. And I saw those bunch of guys acting suspiciously and I guessed they were bothering you. They're involved with me so I was a part of the responsibility...I'm so sorry." You bit your lower lip, quivering. "No, thank you." You were about to let out a sob and let your tears roll down when Kai cupped your chin and kissed you again. He stroked your back as he kissed you, calming you down. He murmured, "breathe." As he did so, he kept on assuring you by telling you that he'd protect you and watch over you. You believed him. He told you that he wouldn't hurt you. You believed him. He also kept on giving you kisses, telling you that you were okay now. And you believed him.

End.
