"Jaylyn! Be quiet!"
I had been blasting my music in my room while doing my homework. Jordan yelled at me from his room down the hall. He was probably about to record something.
Jordan doesn't let me talk to any of his gaming friends. He said that they tend to flirt. I had said I wouldn't mind and he glared. I'm not even sure his friends know I exist.
Jordan calls me his baby sister even though I'm almost 17 and he ruffles my hair because he knows it irritates me.
I ran a hand through my long brown hair and turned off my music. I spent the next hour with my hand tangled in my hair, frustrated with the foreign language of numbers in front of me.
Jordan called me down for dinner. I smelled pizza. Jordan ruffled my hair as I go to grab a plate. I blew a piece of hair out of my face and grabbed a slice of pizza.
Ever since our mom kicked me out of her house to make room for her drug addict boyfriend, Jordan has been treating me like his own daughter.
Jordan grabbed a jacket and his wallet and headed for the door.
"I'm gonna run out and get a movie, I'll be right back."
"Kay."
I silently celebrated because I forgot it was Saturday.
I took a bite of my pizza and made some popcorn.
I put the bowl on the couch and ate the rest of my pizza. I heard voices coming from upstairs.
It was coming from Jordan's bedroom. I told myself to leave it alone but my curiosity got the best of me. I went in his room and saw his computer was still on. It emitted a bluish glow and have noises coming from it. I sat in the chair in front of it and put on the headphones. A mic hung in my face and I listened to a conversation between four people in a chat room named 'Etho', 'H', 'Grapey', and 'Straub'.
"So what did they say?" A chipper voice chimed.
"I didn't get the job, but- oh, hey! Jordan isn't AFK anymore!" A deep voice spoke.
"Unmute bud!" An equally chipper voice poked with an Aussie accent.
I panicked, not a clue what to do. I clicked a button on the program that said 'Unmute'
"Uh, hello?" I tested.
"Jordan, why do you sound like a girl?" The Aussie accent asked.
"Oooo, Jordan has a girl in his room." I could hear a smirk on the new voice that spoke up.
"Ew, no. I'm Jordan's sister, Jaylyn. Jordan's out right now."
"I think Jordan mentioned a sister once. He never told us about you."
"So I'm guessing you guys are his gaming friends?"
"Ya, a few of them. I'm Graser, you can call me Zach." The chipper voice clarified.
"I'm, H or Liam." The deep voice.
"Straub or Mitchell." The Aussie.
"Grape or Sean." The newer voice.
"Well, you guys can't tell Jordan I met you all."
"Why?" Zach sounded disappointed.
"He's a bit protective. If he doesn't kill me, he'll kill you."
"Got it."
I heard a car pull up outside.
"I gotta go, I'll try to get whatever this is on my laptop and talk to you all more."
They all said bye and I clicked the AFK button, ran downstairs, sat on the couch and turned on the tv.
Jordan walked in with a couple DVDs and put one in. We both dug into the popcorn and I fell asleep on the couch.
