Chapter Fifteen

Devon called that we had 5 minutes to get everything together.

Julio sigh and stood.

He reached his hand out to help me up.

I grabbed it and he immediately let go.

"Fuck, your hands are freezing!"

"I'm fine, let's go."

Julio took my hands in his and breathed on them in an attempt to warm them up.

I just stared.

"If I'm gonna be the one carrying you, I don't want cold hands on my neck."

He helped me up.

Then we were on our way.

- Time Skip -

We took a break to eat and drink and light a controlled fire.

We gathered rocks and sticks and made a mini fireplace.

The fire was small but worth the use of a match.

Then it became a story telling circle.

We talked for what felt like hours.

"Let's get going." Devon sighed and started putting out the fire.

We had a lot of energy.

"Shall we be going Princess JJ?" Julio asked goofily and put his hand on his hip.

I hooked arms with him.

"Indeed, Sir Lio."

"Never call me Lio again."

"Never call me princess again."

"No promises."

- Time Skip -

I could see the entrance to the secret tunnel.

I burst away from the group and sprinted to the door.

I waved the rest over.

And I jumped into the tunnel.

In the meeting room, I could see Bee in a camouflage tank top and capris.

She had her head in her hands.

I walked into the room and spoke.

"Bee?"

She looked up to reveal she was crying.

"J-Jay?!" She stuttered but still sounded surprised.

"It's me, I'm back."

Will followed me.

Bee stared.

"Do I know you?" She asked Will.

"Hmmm..." Will thought, staring back.

Bee stood.

"You can go away now. You've tortured me enough.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Jordan warned me about the visions but I never imagined they'd come to this."

"It's me, Bee." I ran over to her. "I'm real."

I touched her shoulder.

Her eyes widened.

"J-Jay?! It's really you?!" Her eyes watered.

"Yes. I brought some friends too."

She hugged me and I hugged back.

Devon, Dakota and Julio came into the room.

"Everything's wrong, Jay. It's all gone wrong." Bee said through the sobs.

"What do you mean?"

"Liam's dead and Mitchell and Sean are missing. Jordan and Zach went on another search party a couple hours ago."

"Where's Maddie?"

"In her room. Hasn't come out since people started disappearing and dying."

"What's happening?" Devon asked.

"My brother isn't here right now." I explained.

"You said this place was safe!" Dakota shouted, slightly angry.

"I can't account for what's happened when I'm gone. It was safe when I was here."

"You're freezing!" She turned to Julio. "Get her under some blankets!"

"But-" Julio started.

Bee glared at him.

"Kay."

I lead him to the girls room and he set me down on a cot.

He put 3 blankets on me.

"I'm warmer than you are now, jealous?" I bragged.

"Don't make me lay there with you. I will."

"You'd like that, wouldn't you?" I teased, smirking.

"That's it."

He walked back to the cot and shoved me over.

We just stared at each other in silence.

He finally spoke up.

"If you still haven't caught onto it yet, I'm flirting with you." Julio whispered, smiling.

I smiled back.

"I'm not that blind."

His face inched towards mine.

"BEE! WE'RE BACK!"
