I went on my normal schedule.

Target practice, group meeting, training, sleep.

But this time Mitchell brought a barrel of steaming water to our room.

"Bath day." Maddie explained. She poured a portion of the water into a big rusted metal bucket and went to a little room dug out behind our room with a piece of a wooden wall as a door.

Apparently all the girls share one towel because that was all the group was able to scavenge.

After everyone else took a bath, they left me with the rest of the water.

I took my bath and came out with the towel wrapped around me. I changed into my clothes and bumped into Brayden on the way out.

I walked away and glanced over my shoulder to see Brayden look away.

He was checking me out.

This isn't the time or place for that kind of drama, dammit.

I hummed a song as I was doing sit-ups.

Jordan walked in.

"A bunch of us are going out to explore a part of the town so we'll be out for a couple hours." He announced.

"Kay."

He raised an eyebrow.

"No 'can I come'? No 'when are we leaving'? That's not the Jay I know."

"Will it do any good?"

"Nope."

"Then yes 'kay'."

"Is there anything you would want that we can find?"

I thought for a second.

"Paper and something to write with would be nice."

There are certain things about the other side of the mirror I wanted to remember.

"Got it."

When they got back Jordan tossed a dusty notebook and a couple pencils to me.

"They were in a house we ransacked."

I immediately started jotting down lyrics from my favorite songs.

"Someone's eager." Mitchell joked. I rolled my eyes and continued writing, blowing off dust as I went.

On the cover I wrote 'Do Not Open'.

Someone was gonna read it eventually.

They wouldn't find anything useful. Just Green Day lyrics and random sketches and drawings.

I looked at my finished drawing of other side of mirror Jordan with his brown and green striped sweatshirt and his baseball cap. I sighed and started sketching Piper.

Bee poked her head in.

"Group meeting." She reminded me.

I set down my notebook and went out to the main room and sat in a metal chair.

"Liam and I think there's a armory just east of town. We need to go check for any leftover weapons. Any volunteers?" Jordan announced.

Zach, Stacy, Brayden and I all raised our hands.

"Jay is not coming." Zach stated firmly. My eyes narrowed.

"I've been training you know. I can do a simple things like this now."

Zach glared and I scowled.

"She can go." Jordan confirmed. I smirked at Zach, he rolled his eyes.

"Zach's in charge of her." He added.

"What?!" I yelled. Zach smirked at me and I stuck out my tongue childishly.

This was gonna be interesting.

Hey dere! Sadie here!
