fluff imagineIt was late at night and you had gotten up from your bed to get a glass of water. The cave was big, making it easy to for echoes to bounce against the wall, so you needed to be extra quiet.
As you got closer and closer to the kitchen you heard rapid crunching, suspiciously, you looked between the island and to your surprise you were met with your worst fear; mice.
A tiny little mouse was rummaging through a bag of cheese puffs, probably left there by Jamie or Bart. You screamed as loud as you could, scaring all your other team mates out of their beds.
You got onto of the counter, where you continued to scream"oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!"
Conner, M'gann, and Kaldur were all out of their rooms ready to fight an unknown enemy.
"What seems to be the problem Y/N?" Kaldur asked you, scanning the room for any threats but couldn't find anything. You sniffled and wiped away your scared tears, "I saw a mouse, but-but I think it's gone now."
They all sighed a breath of relief that is wasn't anything great but at the same time they seemed slightly annoyed they needed to be woken up over a mouse.
"Let's get you down." Stated Conner, taking you in his arms and placing you on the group, "thanks." You mumbled, going back to your room upset. In the morning you walked into the living space and opened the T.V, Garfield soon walked out, looking troubled.
"How's you sleep last night, Gar?" Wondering if that was the reasoning behind his upset expression. His eyes widen suddenly then fell back to a droopy state, "I slept ok I guess. What about you, did you guys get the mouse?"
For a moment you were going to answer him when it all hit you. How would Gar had known about the mouse? He wasn't there when you screamed, you figured that it could only mean one thing.
"You were the mouse, weren't you?!" You yelled in his face, you hated being mad at him, you guys were best friends, maybe something more. You began to storm back to your room and Gar trailed behind you.
"Wait! Y/N, I can explain!" Your door closed behind you, leaving Garfield on the other side. This wasn't the first time he'd played a practical joke like this on you. Just last week he'd turned into a monkey just to pull on your hair and blamed it on 'the monkey instincts.'
"Let me in Y/N please, I didn't mean to scare you."
You huffed, crossing your arms, he did have a point. "Fine." You shuffled across your floor and opened the door for him. He stood there, holding his hands against his chest, looking embarrassed.
"Come in, and no monkey business." Gar nodded like a bobble head in an earthquake. He sat down on your bed right next to you.
"Y/N, I'm really sorry. I am!" He looked down into your e/c eyes. "How can I make it up to you?!" You uncurled your body, placing your hand on top of his. Gar was taken aback but once he could comprehend what was happening he came to his senses.
"Y/N I care about you so much, I don't want to see you sad!" You felt all giddy inside, did he feel the same about you?
"And I don't want to be upset at you, Gar." You sighed, "and I like you so much, it kills me to be mad at you."
He smiled and nodded. As fast as a cheetah he leaned in and your lips touched for a quick minute. When he pulled back you blushed with a smile, "have I made it up to your yet?" Garfield asked with a sly smile. Nodding you kissed him again.
The two of you left your room and decided to cuddle up and watch Disney movies together, Garfield also promised never to turn into a mouse again.
