"Are you sure you want to do this?" You ask Bart as he put the finishing touches on the time machine. He sighed, looking up at the ashy gray sky as the clouds gloomed. He stood up, putting his arms on your shoulder.
"I have to." He stated, pulling you into a hug. You promised yourself you wouldn't cry but you couldn't control yourself. Tears spilled out of your eyes as you gripped onto his shirt.
You had been in love with him for as long as you could remember and the idea of him going on a one-way trip to the past was heart wrenching.
It was also hard to stop him, Bart needed to go back, the inhibitor collar around your neck grew heavy. He needed to save the word.
Nathaniel came towards the two of you, breaking it apart and as you stepped back you saw tears trailing down his face. Nathaniel gestured to Blue Beetle who was in the distance, over watching someone being punished. You and Bart quickly covered the time machine with a tarp trying to avoid getting caught. While Blue Beetle moved on and further from were you were standing,
He shimmer off his prisoners cloths and he was wearing a retro super suit. Bart looked back to you.
You pulled him back into a hug, "I'm gonna miss you so much." You sighed as he nudged his nose into the crook of your neck. You breathed him in, not wanting to let go, but this was a world worth saving.
"Y/n." He started, cupping your face, wiping your tears away with his thumb, "I just want to say, that I-I love you." He admitted, your limbs shook as you looked away, the moment being too emotional for you.
"I love you too." You let out, seizing the moment and kissing him passionately. He tugged your hair, gripping your waist. You once again had to remind yourself to let go of him. You kept your hands in his as you gave him a sincere look.
"Go crash the mode, Bart." You kissed his cheek, blinking away tears. He nodded, bringing you in for a hug one last time.
"I won't ever stop thinking about you y/n." You pressed your foreheads together. You were never gonna see him again and it was hard to process.
"You'll never leave my head Bart Allen." He let go, stepped into the pod. You took a deep breath as he blasted back into time.
Falling onto your knees you felt Nathaniel put a hand on your back. Instantly, sky changed into a blue you'd never seen before.
Nathaniel seemed excited as his collar had been removed but yours was still on. Then after another brief moment yours was gone and any trace of Blue Beetle had dissapeared.
"He did it." You exclaimed, shaking your head, but at what cost? You thought.
You turned to Nathaniel, "we need to build another machine." You stated, living without Bart seemed like nightmare, "I need to go to the past."
You slowly stood up and Nathaniel nodded,
"then we better get started."

A/N: I reallyyyyy like this one-shot, I think it would be great as like a mini book what do you guys think? Maybe I could do a part 2?
