Kayla's life

Puppies are alive!

I paced back and forth in the large cage they put me in. I waited for my Kayla to be back with out puppies. My ears perked up. I heard Kayla yowl in pain. And a few minutes later I heard crying puppies. "Kayla?!" I called out. I watched as the human brought her over with squirming beside her. My eyes lit up. "Kayla!" I said excitedly. She was put down in the large cave with eight puppies. I came over and sniffed them. My eyes went blank as I scented death. "W-what wrong with the puppy?!" I screeched. I grabbed it and moved it to Kayla's face. "He's not breathing!" She cried. I began to lick the puppy trying to help it. I stopped. His little heart beat stopped too. "He's dead."
"He's dead Kayla! He's dead." I repeated frantically.

There was only two puppies left. "It's all my fault. Master will punish me. He might aswell kill me! I'm no use. I can't even carry your puppies and can't even give birth to them properly." She cried."We can try again Kayla!" I spat."You can't just give up!" The humans came over again. They picked up the puppies and took them away. "We'll get them back. They always give them back." He whispered. Kayla got up and stayed in the corner. Her eyes were dull. "Kay, it isn't your fault." I said as I went over to her. I layed down beside her and licked her ear. "You can't control what happens. We can try again when your ready." I said as I cuddled up beside her. "It'll be okay." I whispered and I listened her breathing go into a rhythm. She was asleep now. I fell asleep beside her.
