6 Months Later.
Madison, Olivia, and Hunter are 6 months old today. I call Madison Maddie as a nickname.
I have already started to worry about their Divergence. I know that they are Divergent. If I am, and Tobias is, then they have to be.
As I am thinking about this, the door opens, revealing Tobias. I snap my neck to the door, and smile. I run to him, and hug him.
"How was the Control Room?" I ask him. "Pretty Good, Actually." He says, smiling. "They're setting up for the faction festival." He says.
"Oh yeah. Didn't the Amity come up with that? So that all of the factions could connect and be happy?" I ask, laughing afterwards at how deranged the Amity are. That bread does strange things.
He nods his head. "How are the kids?" He asks. "Good." I say.
I walk to the kitchen, and prepare a few bottles of milk for the kids. I hand two to Tobias, and I keep two.
I walk down the long, narrow hallway to the kids' room, following Tobias. I go right, and he goes left.
I walk into Olivia and Maddie's black, grey, and Neon pink room, and see them each laying on their backs in their small, black cribs, asleep.
I pick each one up, and they wake up. Their eyes flutter open, and they stare at me.
I walk to the rocking chair in the corner, and sit. I set the milk next to me, and rock Olivia and Maddie.
I can't resist those eyes. Maddie and Olivia both received Tobias's eyes, and I'm glad for that.
I reach to the table next to the rocking chair I'm in, and grab the milk. Maddie reaches for one, and she grasps it. Olivia does the same. She reaches for it, and takes it.
I secretly think that Maddie is smarter than Olivia or Hunter. She can already hold the bottle by herself.
Once they finish, I cradle them, and pat their backs. BURRRRP! Wow.
I lay them in Maddie's playpen, and walk across the hall, dragging the playpen with me.
I walk into Hunter's Black, Grey, and Lime Green room, and see Tobias.
His back is to me, and he is singing to Hunter, who is banging a red and yellow Amity toy truck on the floor of his playpen.
I must be crying loudly, because Tobias turns around, and comes to me.
"What's Wrong?" He asks, while pushing Maddie's playpen over by Hunter's. "You're just so great with the kids." I say, sobbing into his shirt.
Then the thought hits me, and I stop crying. "Shit." I mutter, running to the Mac Computer in our Office.
"What's wrong?" Tobias calls, running after me. "I have to call mom. They haven't seen the kids yet." I say.
As leaders, we have the latest technology.
We have a touchscreen Mac, which is basically the iPhone 10s, but with a way bigger screen.
I walk into the office, and go to the wall that the computer is on.
I look at the computer, and I tap the FaceTime button, and select my mom's name.
Natalie Prior
Calling....
Seconds later, my mom pops up on the screen, and says "Hello, Tris!" I smile. "Hey Mom." I say. "What do you need?" She asks.
"I was wondering if you and Dad could come to Dauntless tomorrow, to see your three grandchildren." I say, tears threatening to spill over my eyes.
"Honey." She says, wiping her eyes with the sleeve of her robe, "I would be honored."
"Okay! See you at about eleven o' clock tomorrow morning." I say. "Bye." She says. "Bye." I say, and hang up.
The Next call should be harder. I have to call Caleb.
