The Mind Trap.

Four Years Later.

*Kaleb's PoV*

Four years in that horrid place. I couldn't even see anyone. Toby was with me for two years until he was sane enough to send home. It took me two more years than him but I'm finally free. I can go home now.

A car pulled up in front of me. "Jump in!" Hunter smiled at me. She looked more mature than the last time I saw her and less tomboyish which I think I might miss a little. Her hair was dyed an ombre from black to brown and above her shoulders. Her face got more filled making her look rich and vibrant.

I smiled and walked around to the other side of the car and sat in the front seat. "Finally! I've missed you!" She pulled me in for a tight hug. "I have some great news!" She squealed excitedly. "What's that?" I laughed. "I own my own business." She gave me a toothy smile. "What? Forreal? What happen to working for the FBI?" I asked in surprised. "I just want a normal life. The FBI life is too much for me. I've seen too much and I don't want that anymore. Annie unassign both of us because I asked him too but don't worry I'll help you get back on your feet." She explaimed before her phone began to ring. I noticed the contact was a person named Will. "Yes honey! What's the matter? No. I came to pick up Kaleb. Remember I was telling you  that I was coming to pick him up?" She asked before continuing, "Yes baby him." She smiled. "Ok bye bye. Love you too. See you later okay?" She smiled before hearing what they had to say and hang up the phone.

I watched her with wide eyes. "Sorry. That was my son Calum." She apologized. "Calum? Son?" I questioned her. "Yeah. I was pregnant with him four years ago. A while after you left I found out." She briefly explained to me. She took a right which leads a a big park two minutes away. "Wait...what?" I asked even more confused. So after I left she went with someone else? I was replaced quickly...wow. Her phone began to ring again. "Give me a minute." She sighed before answering the phone. "Hello?" She asked the caller. "Yes. He has to reach for ten." She said.

I kept silent until we reached the park. She cut off the phone after we got out and began walking into the park. "What were we talking about?" She asked me. "Calum." I reminded her. "Oh yes. So I found out after you left." She smiled. We walked to a bench and sat down. "So I was that easy to replace?" I asked her. I didn't know why I was angry but I was. "What are you talking about?" She asked me with confusion in her voice. "After I left you slept with someone else...that's what I'm talking about." I said bluntly. "What are you talking about Kaleb? After you left I FOUND OUT that I was pregnant!" She stressed. "Just explain what you're trying to say Hunter." I pleaded. "Oh for god's sake you're really clueless sometimes you know." She groaned before facepalmig me. My facial expression went unamused. "Oh don't give me that bitch face!" She hissed at me. "What? You're the one that can't explain properly." I pointed out innocently. "And you're the one that's clueless!" She shouted at me. "I'm not clueless-" She held my face and kissed me. I pulled away from her. "Don't kiss me when you're fucking someone else!" I twisted my face in disgusted. "Oh for god's sake I didn't fuck anyone else besides you!" She yelled. Their was a couple not far away from us that watched us in horror. "I hope we're not like that." The girl mumbled to her boyfriend but I could hear them still.

Then it hit me. "Wait..." I trailed off. "Wait! Wait! Wait!" My eyes widened. I jumped up from the bench. "I have a son?" I asked her. She stood up in front of me. "Yes Kaleb. Jeez...I tried to surprise you but nope-" she began complaining but I crashed my lips gently into hers. Her hands came up to my chest and when I tried to pull away she pulled me back in. "No." She hummed. I pulled away from her. "God I've missed you baby but when did all of this happened?" I asked her. "The night before your...the night before we got the job." She smiled. "It was just one tike though." I pointed out to her. "Just one time turned into just one baby and if you don't believe me run a test." She said. "Nah I believe you bjt just to make sure you know..." I ceased. She slapped me on my chest. "Your the worst you know?" She rolled her eyes. "Yet you love me I teased her. "Do you want to meet him?" She asked. "Well if he's my son don't I have the right?" I mocked her. "You're difficult you know that?" She held my hand and pulled me to the car. "I know a lot of things but him being my son is one that I don't know." I teased. She gave me a bitch face before we went into the car.

After a long ride home we reached to the apartment we used to stay. "You still stay here?" I asked her. "Well I mean it is our home." She said in a duh tone. "That's him." She pointed to some baby pictures on the wall. The little boy in the picture hard the same blue eyes as me,  his hair was light brown like mine and his face was sharp like mine but chubby. He looked exactly like me. Hunter walked over to me and handed me a paper. "What's this?" I asked her. "The test. Just incase you don't believe me. I asked someone I knew to take it for me. I even watched her do it to makw sure bjt they made sure you didn't see me or know though." She expained. The date on the paper said three years ago and that I am the father. Well damn. Would you look at that. "How did you manage?" I asked her. "I got help from Toby's mom. She's a sweet lady you know." She smiled. "Know do you believe me?" She asked. "Yes." I smiled. "I can't believe I am a dad. I missed out so much." I sighed. "Don't worry. He has an appointment but he'll be back in a while. Toby's mom works in the daycare with me so she took him." She said. "By the way Toby's the godfather."

"Well I would expect that after all he did for us." I said. "How did we end up like this? Everything's just moving so fast." I sighed. "Don't worry honey. We'll right our wrongs and live happily ever after." She smiled. "I hope so." I sighed turning my face. "Look at me Kaleb." She placed her palm on my cheek. "We've been through hell and back. As long as we have each other we'll always get back up again. That's what we did and what we do. Your mental health will remain iffy but it's now on you to say whether you want to live your life in fear or be feared. As long as you keep getting up back you'll be unstoppable no matter what." She whispered to me. Power glowing around her face. She has become stronger since I left and she keeps getting stronger. "I promise you I'll keep going. For myself mostly so that I can take care of you and Calum." I said with much truth. My forehead touch hers. "I know you will."She whispered under her breath.
