I wanted to write this notice regarding the international tragedy that struck Paris, France early this evening.
The famous historic Notre Dame caught fire.
I personally went to France for a French exchange only a month ago and am in a state of shock.
Whether you believe in god or whether you're French or not please offer your thoughts and prayers to join me as we mourn this lost of priceless culture and history.
Notre Dame was famous for Victor Hugo's Hunchback of Notre Dame and for its marvellous gothic architecture.
It was completed 1345.
And partially destroyed today, April 15.
- A poem for Our Lady:
Fire burns brightly and the people cry! Au secour! Au secour! Our beloved lady is burning! Save her! Save her! The tower falls down as orange and red glows. We all cry because we know, Priceless art was been lost. And all for what cost? Oh our lady! Great and strong! Who has caused this horrible wrong? Like a hungry beast the fire wants more. It will never be as it was before. Still we pray and still we weep. Her memory of victory we will keep. But for now in trouble deep. We will rise until once more, Until Our Lady stands over us just as before.
