Pein

I hopped down from a rock and sighed.

I was sneaking around in Amegakure hoping to get a read on the Akatsuki leader.

Somehow I found out that Pein still had the rinnegan. I know for a fact that it wasn't Madara who gifted him with it...

The only one who could have maybe done it was.......Zetsu if he managed to get a piece of DNA from Madara and Hashirama.

But that's not a huge setback since I have the Sage of Six Paths on my side! Hopefully...

'My plan is coming along fine...just need my cue.' I thought.

I was waiting for Itachi to invite me to our fight where I'd complete my first stage of the plan.

Then I'd show up at Pein's attack and reinstate myself as a Konoha nin.

Since Tsunade ordered me to go undercover at my request I'm technically still a Konoha nin.

'This is around...December?' I thought, 'that means Jiraiya may die soon...'

I sighed.

"Are you alright?" Asked Tobirama.

I nodded and shot him a strained smile.

I really was stressed out.

"Just a little tired.." I told him.

He nodded with a heavy sigh, "You're overworking yourself..."

"Heh.. I'd never would have thought I'd hear you say that about someone carrying out the Will of Fire..." I joked lightly.

He smiled, "You're the exception."

Suddenly a huge explosion sounded.

"That's not good..." I murmured as I shot in that direction.

"Izuna!" Said Tobirama in a warning tone.

"I know."

This chakra was unlike anything I felt before. The only thing that could compare was... a tailed beast?

I gasped as I arrived at the scene.

Jiraiya was battling Pein and his Paths!

'I'm....losing consciousness...' thought Jiraiya weakly.

He couldn't lose! He just couldn't! Jiraiya wouldn't give up.

So...shakily he stood up.

"As expected..." murmured Pein.

'That's it!' I thought as I threw a kunai towards the two of them. (Plus the paths)

A Hirashin seal was on the kunai so I teleported in the between them.

"Y-You...!" Jiraiya exclaimed.

I stared at Jiraiya with a ghost of a smile.

I had no time to smile now. This was serious.

"It's a disgrace to see you lose to such a weak brat." I teased.

"Oi!! Why are tou being so mean-?"

I paid no mind to his ramblings and turned to face Pein.

"So you're the leader of the Akatsuki..." I drawled coolly.
