Among men, the spared human leaders joined in secret meetings, around the globe, and founded the Naturals movement against human cloning. The naturals knew their military inferiority, direct attacks was out of question, therefore, they resort to guerrilla attacks. In their rest time, Jacob and his coworker friend walked out, undetected, from the sewers to the radiated city surface. They were looking for a nearby building, a commercial skyscraper in the past, now turned to rubble. They sneaked through broken concrete to a corridor traversed with decayed doors of old office rooms.
"From now on you must go by yourself Jacob, I'll take care of Trevor while you're gone. My Naturals friend is waiting for you in the next room. We can't stay here much longer, shepherds roams this part of the city. Go now!" The coworker said.
Jacob turned to Trevor in tears.
"I'll avenge us Trevor! Be strong down here."
When Jacob got near the closed door, a man appeared, grabbed his arm and pulled him inside, closing the door with care afterwards. There were three people, one of them had a disproportionate mechanical arm, similar in design as his prosthetic legs.
"First, just listen," said the man in the middle, "I can see now why your coworker insisted in introducing you to our cause, your Pemakan legs are amazing. We're a rebellious group dedicated to weaken Pemakan forces until salvation day, the day we'll leave Earth and strengthen our species. But before that we must save as much brothers as we can and any extra special arm or legs can be of great help. My name is Braden, and my two companions here were lab rats, like you, to the Pemakan. Do you remember me, I used to live in your neighborhood?"
"Yes! I came across you once or twice, I also remember of your son too. Okay, you guys hate Pemakans as much as the rest of us, but explain me what 'Naturals' means." Jacob said.
"Excellent question! I believe you're aware of human cloning, they born as slaves, forced fed and grown in total isolation before being slaughtered, a selected few, however, serves Pemakan oppressors as pets, or for any other eccentricity you can imagine. We will stop it no matter what because humans are not beasts!"
"I'm a freed cloned, call me Nowak," said the man with the Pemakan arm, "You don't understand what I saw, a sea of dead men walking to oblivion as food to our enemy. Almost every one of them couldn't even speak because they had no one to teach them. I was fortunate, if you can see it that way, my Pemakan owners was sociologists and taught me how to speak and behave as a man."
"We can't be here much longer, Pemakan patrol will come soon. Follow me!"
Braden was holding a modified rifle and lead them out of the building remains. They went to the streets and remained in the shadows. Nowak saw two enemy soldiers chatting, blocking their passage to the Naturals safe house. He made a gesture to Braden and went to the other side of the street. Jacob followed Nowak actions. The two soldiers were close of one another. Nowak sneaked behind them and shoot one soldier in the back while reaching for the other one with his synthetic hand, the soldier froze as his head cracked open like an egg, falling lifeless in the ground. Braden made a signal to everybody to follow him, then they hid the bodies. The Naturals headquarters were under the subway, an active US bunker. By the entrance, Braden said the password, a large door opened and Bobby came up to them.
"You're back dad!"
"Good to see you son, do you remember our neighbor Jacob?"
"Hi Jacob, are you joining us?"
"Yea, I guess. Your father said I could help."
"Of course you can, look at these legs, they're awesome!"
"Stop bothering Jacob, Bobby! We all need to rest. Tomorrow morning we'll resume our conversation."
Jacob counted only two hundred people in the bunker.
How on Earth is this gang a threat to the invaders?
He was too tired and didn't want to think anymore.
