Later that night Martha was alone in her room, seated in the carpet with her eyes closed. She saw blurred images and glances of tall dancing figures.
"You know him already, didn't you?" The voices in her head said.
"Yes. He is anxious and out of place."
"It is your destiny to give him a home and a family. This is something he never had."
"I'll try my best to guide him to your teachings."
"No! He doesn't need us, but someone is yet to come."
Martha felt a great pain in her stomach and fell to the ground. She saw distorted and monstrous faces encircling her, salivating.
"I must not fear my destiny, for I am the sprawling root, my stems will reach far off through beyond the spheres." She seated once again.
"Root I am. Branches, tomorrow leaves for time immemorial. Ephemeral is thy name. Ephemeral will be our home."
