Valerie was once again, reading a Season Mythology book. She admired how alluring and mesmerizing the seasons were. She'd give up anything to be like that. Valerie loved the seasons so much, she could name them from the top of her head: Bian, Fieen, Spring, Pollo, Fortin, Summer, Infus, Necro, Agon, Autumn, Vacus, and Winter. Those were the twelve major seasons.
There was Bian, Season of Life, Month of January. That was the season she looked up to the most. She made sure that when it was her month, there is more life to exist than in the other months. She decided to look up from her book, and she was so shocked, that she fell out of her bed.
"Settle down, Valerie." said the being calmly.
She gazed at his obsidian eyes showing a clear, yet cold tone to his expressions. She didn't know what to believe. Was she having surreal hallucinations? It wasn't just any person, he was too mystical to be a human being."How do you know my name, and who are you?" Valerie's panic surged inside her. What was this strange man doing in her room? Her eyes jitterly paced through the room with her body in paralysis.
"I am Cruit, Season of Recruit. You were exclusively chosen to enroll in Tempus Academy."
"Do you have the wrong person? I already go to school."
"No, you were chosen because you have the right credentials on what it takes to ascend into a season."
Valerie could've fainted right then and there. Her? As a season? She couldn't possibly do that. Why her out of the many more talented people in the world?
"Does my family know about this? When will we go? Where is it at?" Valerie's panic bombarded him with questions on how this would work.
"Yes, I told your family about this a week beforehand. It took them a few days of convincing, but yes, you have their consent. You will go in one week, and I will be able to pick you up within my ability of transportation. Tempus Academy is located next to the Season Consul."
Due to Valerie's surprise, he answered all of her questions in a placid tone. Her parents knew about this, how could they keep this a secret in a week? She felt excluded from them from such a big opportunity.
"My job here is done. I must go now."
She tried to say goodbye, but he disappeared within the light before she could muster up a word. Valerie's eyes were wide awake, lying on her back, still processing what happened. She pinched herself, thinking it was just a dream. Denial was rising up from her, not believing what had just happened.
