Once Spring finished her speech of instructions, the crowd conversed and expressed their obvious confusion. She already saw a wave of people storming out the doors. The crowds overwhelmed her. Her lungs were pumping oxygen at a faster rate. She was alone in the stampede.
She frantically looked at her map, trying to get to her room. Valerie used the process of elimination to get to her room. There were two separate quarters for the males and females, so she eliminated the Male Quarters known as the Masculum. She headed towards the Female Quarters which was called the Feminam.
Valerie went outside once again to already see two different crowds going to each separate quarter. She breathed at a slower pace, knowing she was going to go in the right place. She headed towards the crowd of girls.
She looked at her map once again, and saw the exact room number. Tribus 26. A tornado of confusion swirled around her. She noticed the names of the school felt like a different language. She noticed how huge the quarters were, it was five floors and had around a hundred rooms each floor. She could get lost in the quarters for an entire day alone.
Her breathing pace picked up speed, not knowing what Tribus was. She headed into the building anyways. Hopefully, there were labels to what each area was. She noticed the floor she was in was called Unus. A spark flashed into her head. It was to look at the prefix of the area. Tri- meant three, so it would probably be the third floor.
She dashed to the stairway, determined to find her room. The stairs felt weirdly comfortable, for once, she didn't feel tired after reaching her desired floor. She was at the third floor, Tribus. Valerie just needed to find Room 26. The hallway awaiting her seemed to stretch for miles on end.
Valerie's head jittered, trying to find the right room number.
"Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen; Twenty six, where are you?" She muttered.
She walked for what felt several minutes.
When she found the right number, she felt a nice sense of reward. She opened the door, and already saw her roommate there."Hi, you must be my roommate!" The girl welcomed her excitedly.
The girl must be Wallace Encore. She had quite the unique fashion sense and distinct accent. She had a beret, which made Valerie immediately think of French, but her accent sounded too harsh to be French. She had bright tomato red hair that only reached her neck, round glasses, a collared white shirt, with a red tie to match her hair, cargo shorts, and Birkenstocks to top it all off.
"You must be Wallace Encore, right?"
"No, I'm Bob the Third." There was a short pause of silence.
"Of course I'm Wallace Encore! You must be Valerie Medina, right?"
Her past statement was a sarcastic remark, which already suits her appearance. Valerie nodded back and they shook hands.
"Spring said once you find your room, and meet your roommate, you can explore the campus until it is curfew, which is 8:00. Also, dinner starts at 7:00. Do you want to explore the campus together?" Valerie suggested.
"I have nothing better to do."
Valerie and Wallace got up and started exploring together.
