Valerie's eyes woke up from her slumber. It was school, but she did not want to get up. She stayed in her bed, fetal position, wishing it was the weekend. She was sixteen, not a little kid anymore. She shouldn't rely on her mother to wake her up.
She found the motivation to get up from her bed. She changed her clothes into a fresh set of new ones, and went into the bathroom and brushed her teeth. Her hair had a mind of its own when it came to brushing it.
She descended downstairs to already see her mother cooking up breakfast. It was Chilaquiles, one of her favorite foods. Her mother paced towards her and greeted Valerie good morning.
The food already brightened her morning. Once she finished she grabbed her backpack, and left for school.
"Adiós. Te amo" Valerie's mother, Rosa said.
Valerie left and walked to the bus stop. She paced around the bus stop, looking for Emmett. He was an assigned group project member of hers, and a well known acquaintance.
She looked up, and saw him looking forward towards the road. Valerie walked towards him, demanding an update on how he did for his part on the project. When it came to group projects, she made sure that everyone cooperated and did their part.
"Emmett, did you do your part for the slides?"
"Yeah, I'm halfway done with them. I know you, making sure everyone does their part." He did a faulty impression of Valerie emphasizing "everyone does their part". She obviously looked annoyed at that.
"I do not sound like that. I'm just really passionate when it comes to working with others."
"Whatever you say, Valerie."
They got on board to the bus. Valerie scanned with her eyes on where her friend Sadie was. She had a bus stop earlier than hers, so she usually saved a seat for Valerie.
Sadie waved her hand up to get Valerie's attention.
"Over here Val! Over here!"
Valerie noticibly saw Sadie and sat next to her.
"Hey Sadie." Valerie smiled.
"How's your group project going?" Sadie asked.
"At first, it was a pain to lead, but now I got their attention and they actually started working!"
"Yeah, I know you. Always making sure everyone does their work."
"Yeah when I snapped, that got them up and working."
Sadie and Valerie were conversing until the bus arrived at school. They split ways and went to first period.

The bell for sixth period rang, and Valerie felt relief once school was over. She thought maybe she could go to the school library quickly and hopefully catch the bus on time.
Valerie walked into the library where they had a plethora of books. It was basically heaven for her. She looked at the mythology section, and checked out another Seasons Mythology book.
Valerie walked towards the librarian, handing her the book she wanted to check out.
"Ready to check out?" The librarian asked.
"Mhm." Valerie responded accordingly. She checked out the book and fast walked towards the buses.
