“Come on, Luna!” I cheered her on happily, extending my arms towards her. “You can do it!”
I watched her eyebrows scrunch as she pushed herself up on her feet with her hands, stumbling slightly but being caught in the hands of Daehyun, who steadied her again. I clapped my hands and laughed, earning Luna’s million-dollar smile as she scrunched her eyebrows again as she took careful steps towards me, picking up her pace as she was only about a few feet away from me.
I lifted her in the air as she collapsed in my arms, laughing and kissing her soft, pale cheeks. I hugged her tightly, and managed to catch Haru a second later as he made his way to me as well. He laughed out loud, chirping, “Mommy!”
My heart swelled like it did the moment these two said their first words. Haru’s was, “Mommy” while Luna’s was surprisingly, “Poop.”
Yeah, I don’t even know.
Daehyun and I have been living together for the past three years, and in these three years, contact with Baekhyun has been long forgotten but I can’t help but think of him. He isn’t on my mind as much, but I think of him at least five times a day. A part of my heart still longs for him, but right now, my heart belongs to someone else.
A pair of legs spread around me from behind and I felt his chin rest on my shoulder, his strong arms wrapping around my stomach. His lips pressed against my neck, kissing it until I turned and kissed his own lips.
“Their walking has improved significantly since last week,” Daehyun murmured after we kissed, our attention turning back to Luna and Haru who squirmed out of my hold and are chasing after each other.
“Everything about them has improved,” I added on, situating myself into a more comfortable position so I can relax into his body. “I’m a proud mother.”
“And I’m a proud father.”
I nodded, smiling. Just a one year ago in court, I won the case on who takes custody of Luna and Haru, and one of my requests is probably the most cruel I have ever been. Hell, it was the cruelest thing I have said, let alone it being directed towards one person in general.
“I don’t want Baekhyun being a part of their lives whatsoever.”
With some feud, they granted that wish and the only thing that shows that he is their father is their birth certificate, but other than that, Haru and Luna don’t know he exist whatsoever. They believe Daehyun is their father, and call him Daddy as well. I’m not complaining, because they needed a father in their lives and Daehyun has done a great job being one since the day he met them.
“Dara,” Daehyun murmured quietly.
“Yes?”
“Will you go out on a date with me tonight?” I chuckled at his suave question. I lifted my chin, meeting his twinkling eyes and grinned.
“I would love to,” I responded, leaning up and kissing him, pulling away and met his eyes again. “After we finish our homework.”
Daehyun face palmed, groaning into his huge hands. “Please don’t remind me about homework.”
“It is due in two days, Daehyun and we always get extra credit if assignments are turned in early!” I persisted, leaning forward and tugging on his arm once I grabbed it. “Besides, it’s a given that you need that extra credit!”
