I didn’t breathe one word when I watched Baekhyun’s eyes brim with tears and he left my hospital room abruptly.  Daehyun glanced between me and the door, but he also didn’t move his mouth.  Silence filled the room and I could feel Daehyun grow slightly uncomfortable in this situation.

I don’t blame him though.  Millions of emotions rushed through me, but they’re all emotions I’ve felt once before, only intensified.  Was letting Baekhyun go the right thing?  Am I truly doing what is best for Haru and Luna? Or am I just being the same weak girl from the past?

“Dara,” Daehyun whispered while taking a step towards me quietly.  I looked up at him as he inched closer and sat on the edge of my bed.

“I’m going to take Haru and Luna home, and then explain everything to your mother, then Yifan, and then Joonmyun.  Just stay here and rest, okay?  I don’t have a phone, so I’ll stop by later tonight or tomorrow morning.”

“What happened to your phone?” I asked him while raising an eyebrow.

He broke out a small grin, “I couldn’t pay the bill, so I have to wait a little longer to pay for it again.”

I opened my mouth but he cut me off, “I know what you’re going to say, and I’m sorry Dara, but please.  Let me handle my own problems by myself for right now.  Right now, the only thing you need to worry about at the moment is yourself.  I assure you that Haru and Luna are in safe hands.”

My shoulders dropped.  I feel completely useless right now.  Daehyun’s lips curved into a smile as he stood back up and went to the stroller where my sleeping kids are.  I waved at him and watched him leave my room without another word.  The moment I was alone in my room, tears filled my eyes and I covered my face, letting them fall.

I don’t know what to do anymore.

I stayed in the hospital for two weeks, Daehyun visiting me every day to help me catch up on my homework for college.  He informed me that my mother got promoted in her job, so he managed to get Minseok to babysit Haru and Luna while he was at school.

Daehyun took me straight to my mom’s house.  I’m glad that I didn’t go nearly insane sitting in the same bed for two weeks smelling only chemicals, death, and the food Daehyun would bring me.

                Daehyun.

He’s done so much for me.  Care for Haru and Luna; be there for me; he’s been doing everything Baekhyun should be doing.  How do I pay him back though?  He refuses everything I could possibly offer him and I know for a fact he struggles with home life because there is no family to help support him.

Does he even have a job?

I sighed, staring out my window with dull pain prodding my side.  He’s back at school finishing up last minute research and such, while the twins are sleeping in their cribs.  My eyebrow raised as another question among the thousand I’ve thought of popped in my head.  Is Daehyun really at school?

I exhaled sharply.  I really don’t know much about Daehyun and just this makes me feel like complete shit.  All we’ve done is worry about my own problems when I don’t even stop thinking about myself and worry about Daehyun.  First loves never last, and Baekhyun is gone.  I don’t what his intentions are towards Haru and Luna, but his family still wants the rights to have some custody over them, which is bull shit.
