Recap:

"It's not a pleasant story, children. You won't like it, besides it is far too violent for kids your age or even for them twice as old as you."

"But if you make it less violent... Pretty please" Now they all had puppy eyes which meant they had the advantage and I would be forced to give in. I didn't like it. Not one bit. Telling my story to someone was not something ever would want to do. Especially to these kids.

"All right, but you are watching "Finding Nemo" after okay?" I said not wanting them to get nightmares after hearing my story.

"Yippi"

"Well, it all started when I was born...

Chapter 13 Part 2 “Cub’s Aren’t That Bad”

I and my twin sister Everlyn was born in the early winter, the frost had engulfed our home in a little cottage far into the woods.

My parents were Tom and Emma Nightshade, who were at the time hiding from The Night, who were searching for them. Tom and Emma had committed a horrible crime. They had fallen in love, which was something that should never happen.

It hadn't been an issue if Emma had been of The Night, but she wasn't. Love between a creature of the night and a human was strictly forbidden. So when Nathaniel was born - my older brother- they had fled.

My father, Tom, had been the one to build the cottage, since my mother had to care for both her and my newborn brother.

The night I took my first breaths had been a night of a red moon. A night when the fog laid thick and the forest was quiet. I had been the strongest were as my twin sister Everlyn was sickly.

As we grew older we started to go on adventures here and there. In the beginning it was just in the herb garden our mother had planted, then one day I, Eve and Nat had gone further into the woods than usually. Eve and I had just turned 5 and we loved the idea of adventures and fairytales.

"Lookie Vie! Nat! Isn't it cute?!" Eve squeaked before one of her many coughing attacks started up again. In front of us was a little puppy. It's eyes were large orbs and the fur had felt like silk, whatever that was.

"That's not a puppy Eve!" Nat said his voice trembling. "That thing is a werewolf-puppy!"

"What's a werewolf Natty?" I had asked with the ignorance of a child.

"A werewolf is a terrible creature. They kill for their own amusement and they feast upon dhampir and human flesh. We need to get back home to mom and dad! Now!"

Eve reached out to touch the puppy but as she did, a huge growl game from the bushes at the same time as Nat screamed not to touch it.

"Run! Both of you run!" He called and I grabbed Eve's arm.

We ran through the woods, branches cutting up our legs making it easier for the bloodthirsty werewolf's to follow us.

After running nearly haft the way home. Eve tripped on an up sticking rot. She lost the lose grip she had on my hand and tried to get up.

Then out from the bushes a huge grey wolf appeared. It's fur was tainted with branches and dry mud, the teeth yellowed and the overlip curled up in a threatening way.

For a moment I stood frozen to the ground, not even blinking or breathing.

Then, suddenly the were leap forward biting in to Eve's little fragile frame, making her scream in agony as the blood gushed out of her.

"Daddy!" She cried out and I fled. "Daddy!"

When I reached the cottage I was panting heavily and my feet hurt badly from running barefoot over the hard forest floor. With my little hand I reached up to the handle and pulled the door open. As I stepped into my home I saw furniture knocked over, pots and frames smashed against the floor and claw marks here and there.

After standing there, just standing looking at my now trashed home, I bolted out of the cottage.

In front of me were 7 wolves, ears slicked back and teeth showing. There were also three humans, two were holding my mother in place while the third one, a man in his early forties, was standing in the middle of the half circle looking towards the woods.

I watched him, studying his features, he was build out of muscles and he had a pair of golden grey eyes and dark brown hair...

I think that's enough for tonight, of you go" I said since I didn't want to continue to tell this violent past of mine. Especially not to children.

"But what happened then?" Hannah said, opening her mouth for the first time. I looked down on her and said "That, is not for children's ears" as I stood up Sandy carefully tugged my arm.

"What about Nemo?!"

"What about him sweetie?" Ugh, now I was using pet names on them too.

"You said we could watch Nemo after your story! Can we?! Pretty pwease!" At the last part they all joined in. Puppy eyes and kids voices. Kill me now!

"Okay. To the living room then"

They all ran at top speed towards the couches, me and trailing behind.

When the movie had reached the part where the irritating birds had flown in to one of the big sails, all the cubs had fallen asleep. And I? I was slowly drifting of as well.
