Chapter XIIII "Let Me Have A Word"

Recap:

 When the movie had reached the part where the irritating birds had flown in to one of the big sails, all the cubs had fallen asleep. And I? I was slowly drifting of as well.

Chapter XIIII "Let Me Have A Word" Lilly's POV

I really felt bad leaving her with the kids, actually I felt bad about this whole situation. Her and Phillipe, the whole I'm-not-gonna-mate-with-you-ever thing and You-have-no-choice-in-the-matter-I'm-going-to-be-hostile-to-you attitude were really starting to affect the pack.

In this matter I think I'll take my Luna's side, since Phillipe wasn't very cautious about her feelings. I mean if Will had acted that way before we mated I think I would have hit really hard over the head with my cooking book. I believe that Alpha hasn’t thought about the heavy past she must carry deep inside since she's a dhampir.

"Honey, you are frowning at the air again" Will mumbled next to me squeezing my hand tight.

"I wasn't frowning at the air, Will. I was thinking" I answered as I let my gaze travel from our linked hands to his handsome face.

"You were worrying about the Luna/Alpha situation, weren't you?"

"Yeah. I can't help to think that Phillipe is a little insensitive towards her you know. She's a dhampir after all she probably has a heavy passed"

"It will work out Lills, stop worrying. It will all be fine"

After the movie had finished the pack walk to separate cars, some complaining about the sitting arrangement others on how bad they thought the movie was.

I and Will had split up into different cars and so I was now seated with Vanja, Tyler, Sarah and Jack in the driver seat. To be completely honest, I had felt like I had a less chance to die if someone else had been driving. Let's just say Jack weren't known to be the most careful driver.

Five screams, three heart attacks and a constant chanting from Vanja about getting out of the car as soon as possible and to never be in the same car as Jack again, later we were finally home. Miraculously in one piece.

We stepped at the same time as Phillipe's black Mercedes rolled in to the driveway. Phillipe slammed the door, still in a fool mood. I don't think he has noticed how his behavior has started to affect the whole pack.

Phillipe opened the door and walked in stepping out of his shoes and walking to the living room. Then he stopped in the doorway, standing there frozen to the ground.

I walked up behind him and took a look at the living room. "Maybe you should leave her with the cubs more often" I said quietly so they wouldn't wake up.

In the middle of the couch sat Victoria sleeping. On her lap sat Sandy who was still hugging her waist, on her left side Paul had snuggled up to her together with Dave and Bella. On her right side laid Liv, Hannah and Joe.

It was really cute and as I looked at Phillipe I finally understood what my Alpha was feeling and I understood why he had acted this way being cold and shutting the rest of the pack from his mind

I could see how the fact that he was denied everything that he as a mate should automatically have hurt him on a level I didn't think was possible. But on his face was also a look of adoring for Victoria that all mated couples got when looking at their other half, but what he felt for her seemed appeared to be deeper than an ordinary bond.

"Lilly, tell me what to do, I don't know how to change her mind about the mating. It's driving me insane, I can't even think straight anymore!" he said dragging a hand through his hair.

I didn't answer him at first and kept watching his sleeping soul mate.

"Did you ever think that your mood swings might affect her more than you know? That you suddenly being cold towards her confuse her even more? Let her in, try telling her about yourself and don't pressure her. No good will come from doing that. I believe that she has a heavy past, perhaps she was placed in the Crypt or sold as a slave, so please do not be hard on her not only for her sake but for all of us."

"Wise as always Lilly. I'll try but I can't say it will work." he said looking back at her sleeping form.

"Let her spend some more time with the kids, it seems that she has a good hand with them. I have never seen Paul ever be so peaceful as he is now. Oh and try to figure out your own way to her heart, it will be worth it in the end."

I watched how my Alpha walked towards the couch where he lowered himself onto the floor resting the side of his head against her legs. And for the first time in a long time he looked peaceful matching the expression of the cub's and our Luna.

Victoria's POV

I woke as the light seeped through the windows. Looking around I saw that Sandy and the other kids had been taken from the couch. I felt something slightly heavy against my leg which caused me to look down only for my eyes to meet the back of Phillipe's head...

Ohhh! I finished a chapter in less than two days!
