A Walk Down Memory Lane (COMPLETE)

Chapter Forty One

           Allen's secretary already talked to the school and gladly, they accepted it. Hindi ko alam pero I'm really excited. I really want to help Zion pero dahil mahirap siyang lapitan, because I don't want to be in touch with my biological parents anymore, I can't help him. I also asked Allen to give a free scholarship to some students. Thankfully, Zion is a smart kid. Top one siya sa klase nila so of course I said na yung top 1 from grade 1 to grade 6 ang bigyan ng free scholarship.

           Nasa loob ako ng van ngayon. Inaayos nung mga volunteer workers yung mga ipamimigay naming school supplies at groceries sa mga bata. Their parents are present as well dahil di naman madadala ng mga bata yan ng sila lang. And as usual, Zion's alone. I can see him from the window. Tinago ko sa ilalim ng upuan ko yung pinabili ko kay Camille na uniform. Ang luma na kasi ng suot suot niya.

           "You look really happy." sambit ni Allen habang hawak ang kamay ko.

           "Naalala ko lang ang sarili ko sa kanila."

           "Hindi ko alam na mahilig ka pala sa mga bata. Kahit gaano na kita kakilala I guess, I still have a lot of things to learn about you."

           I leaned my head on his shoulder. "When we have kids, I want us to give them the best life. Ayaw kong maghirap sila. I want them to know that we love them. Saka gusto kong maging open sila sa atin whenever they have problems." pinagbigkis ko ang mga daliri naming dalawa.

           "Should we get married?"

           Napataas ako ng tingin sa kanya. Hindi ko alam ang isasagot. I used to hate the idea of getting married but if it's with Allen... I know I'd be happy. Alam kong wala akong pagsisisihan... But that's not something we should talk about today.

           "Maybe we should talk about it another time."

           He groaned. "I got rejected again... But anyway, I can wait."

           I laughed. "Hindi naman kasi dapat minamadali yun. We'll get there."

           "I know. Kung hindi lang din ikaw ang pakakasalan ko, di bale na lang. You're the only woman I want to be with for the rest of my life."

           Kumatok si Camille mula sa labas. She signaled us na lumabas na. She opened the door for us.

           Inalalayan ako ni Allen na bumaba ng sasakyan. Binulungan ko si Camille na dalhin yung paperbag sa ilalim ng upuan. Napatayo yung mga magulang ng bata ng makita kami. Of course, I smiled at them.

           They gave us a seat sa taas ng stage. Everyone took pictures of us but na kay Zion lang yung atensyon ko. He's sitting in front. Bakas ang pagtataka sa mukha nito ng makita ako sa stage. Kumaway ako sa kanya. Ngumiti naman siya. He's really a cute kid.

           Nagsimula ng magsalita yung principal sa harap. May mga nagbabantay naman na tanod at bodyguards ni Allen sa paligid kaya napapanatili ang kaayusan ng lahat.

           "Let's all give a round of a plause to Ms. Tanya Felix and Mr. Allen Ventura." anang principal. "Thank you for choosing our beloved school. We really appreciate your kind gestures, lalo na ang mga batang nag-aaral dito. You didn't just give these kids things, you also ensured some of this kids future. May god bless both of you and of course, AbTV."

           Tumayo kami ni Allen at nag-vow. Nagpalakpakan naman ang mga ito. Binigay ng principal ang mic sa amin. Hindi kami nainform na may pa-speech pala but... I'm always ready.

           "Malapit ako sa mga bata kaya naman malaking bagay sa akin ang makatulong sa mga studyanteng nagsisimula pa lang matuto sa loob ng silid aralan. We're very happy to help these kids kahit sa ganitong paraan lang. And of course, Madam Principal, thanks for accepting us to your beloved school. I hope you continue guiding them to a better future."
