"Get up, lazy bones."

Sherlock woke with a start. John shook him, and the future detective expected a pain in his head but found himself to be okay. His injury must have been mild then.

"What's the first activity?" He asked, getting up and sliding out of his sleeping bag.

"Breakfast, and you're eating a full meal today, you hear?"

"John--"

"Don't 'John' me," the future doctor pulled a white t-shirt over his head, "You need to eat. First activity is swimming."

Sherlock sighed, giving in, "Okay, John. For you."

"No," John scowled mockingly at him, "For you."

Sherlock sighed and shook his head subtly. When was John going to get it? He doesn't care about himself. Sherlock is just a boring sack of nothing. He doesn't deserve John, but he'd do anything for him.

They arrived at the Mess Hall just on time. Like John asked, Sherlock ate a full meal. Though he'd never admit it, it felt good. He's been lacking of food for a while, and the hunger adds up.

"Get on your bathing suits. We're going with a girls' group to the lake," Carl announced, and Sherlock rummaged around in his suitcase for a swimsuit.

He discreetly changed into it, turning to see John with the same white t-shirt on and red swim trunks underneath.

"Well," Sherlock swung a towel over his bare shoulder, "Shall we go?"

John nodded, and they walked the long trek to the dock. John stripped off his shirt, revealing his rather impressive football body. Damn.

Sherlock noticed Mary Morsten eyeing him from afar, and he felt jealousy creep up his neck. Back off, Mary!

John stepped up to the edge of the dock and dove in the chilly lake, like a professional. He saw Mary clap, and John smiled when he resurfaced.

"How...How did you do that?" Sherlock asked, kneeling at the edge.

"I'm a Level-10 swimmer...Been doing practice for years," John explained.

"Is there any sport you haven't mastered?"

"Golf. Gymnastics. That's about it."

Sherlock scoffed and stood up. He heard rapid footsteps approaching, but too late. He felt hands push him from behind, compelling him to land "gracefully" in the icy morning water.

He resurfaced to see Sebastian, looking pleased with himself, and everyone laughing. At him. He swam to the ladder and grabbed his towel, hearing John yelled "Sherlock!" as he ran back to the cabin.

***

"Sherlock...?"

John pushed open the cabin doors. Sherlock sat on his bed, dripping wet, with his head down.

"Hi, John..."

"Sherlock, are you okay?" John rushed to his side, "Seb's just a jerk. What happened?"

"What happened to Seb?"

"I pushed him in," John said triumphantly, "But what about you?"

"It's just...You seem to have everything going for you; sports, looks, women...I can't do anything right. I'm a failure," Sherlock sighed.

"No, you're anything but," John smiled, "Now c'mon, let's go hang out with some guys. It's Free Time!"

They met up with Raz, Greg, Soo Lin, Sarah, Molly, Mary, Irene, and Billy at a picnic table in the field.

"What's she doing here?" Sherlock asked, gesturing to Irene.

"For your information," she stood up and looked him up and down, "I ditched those jerks. I've got a new posse, with my cousin and her friend Mary."

"Ah," John nodded, "So you're Mary then? Hi, nice to meet you, I'm John..."

Sherlock drowned them out. Mary better not think she can just take John. Oh, no, that'll never happen.

"Hey...Sherlock," Raz summoned him to the side, "How're...You and John?"

"We're fine, now can we drop it?" Sherlock snapped.

"Oh, right, yeah..."

"Raz!" Billy beckoned him, "Stop bugging the Empire State Building! Come 'ere!"

"'Empire State Building'...?" Sherlock muttered disbelievingly. Is that really what they call him?

"Billy," John sighed heavily, "He's called Sherlock, not the Empire State Building."

Oh, John. Always defending him. Sherlock really doesn't deserve someone like John. He's just too good to be true.

Is John even real?

**HAY GUYZ. So how's it shakin'? Sorry if this chapter was boring. I'll add some Johnlock fluff next chapter to make up for it, 'kay?

So if you enjoyed this chapter, leave a vote! Get it to the top! (Yeah right, is it even any good?)

By the way, thanks again for 1K reads! WOO!

I've decided this book will have only 30 chapters. That's only five chapters left! Yikes!!
