Chapter 13: Storytime

It took Ember 3 minutes to explain everything that happened to the queen. She was in awe, and was very curious. Surprisingly, she was expecting Aurora and Shadow to come around. "Why would you expect us?" asked Aurora. "I mean, I'm no one really special, and Shadow doesn't really like working with others."

   But the queen replied saying, "Nonsense. Both of you are needed here, due to a certain someone in our boundaries who can tell the future." Aurora's ears perked up. "You have a fortuneteller here?" she asked, as she started walking towards the chipmunk. But Shadow blocked her with his arm.

   "Who are you? Where's Rouge?" he snapped, making some of the guards bring out their spears. But the queen signaled them to put their weapons down, and walked up the black hedgehog. "As you can tell, I am the queen. Queen Sally of the Domination Slayers." she answered. Ember took us to his Resistance instead of Rouge?! Aurora thought as she glared at the guilty and deceitful wolf.

   He just gave off a sheepish look that clearly read What did I do wrong? She then glanced back at the queen who was getting closer to Shadow, making her feel uncomfortable. "You make me curious. Rouge is one of our top best agents, but she is not here."

   Aurora gave Ember another glare that read, I'll deal with you later! Sally apparently saw that, because she grabbed Aurora's chin, and went close to her face, hissing, "Although I understand your frustration, but you're also in my territory. Therefore while you are here, you are to treat me and my subjects with respect! Or the consequences will be dire. Got it?"

   Wow, she's even more scary than Shadow! thought Aurora, as she gulped. She was tempted to slap her hand away, but after what happened with Shard, she'd rather avoid trouble as much as possible. So might as well respect Queen Sally's wishes.

   As Sally let go of her face, the pink hedgehog bowed down to the queen, and said, "My apologies, your Majesty." Ember then bowed next to her, and said, "Please forgive her my queen. She didn't mean any harm." Sally smiled, and said, "You are forgiven." She then looked at Shadow, who crossed his arms and glared at the queen.

   "Bow to her Highness!" a guard who was a cat ordered, and pointed his spear at him. "I bow to no one." snapped Shadow as he grabbed the spear, and snapped it in half. Causing more guards to surround him.

   Great, he just had to bring more trouble to himself! I better go save him before we all end up getting killed. thought Aurora as she ran to Shadow, going in front of him for protection. "Please don't hurt him! He went with us to look for Rouge, too." "Out of the way, outsider!" another guard (who was a fox) ordered, trying to shove Aurora out of the way.

   But she slapped the weapon away, and replied, "I wouldn't try to kill him if I were you. You'd have to deal with me first."

   "And how do you expect us to be scared of a girl who can do nothing to stop us?"

   "I'm the daughter of Sonic the Hedgehog, and Amy Rose. I carry a big hammer, and I will do anything to protect those I care about! Without hesitation!"

   Aurora stopped as soon as she said that, because everybody stared at her, and when she said "those I care about", she included Shadow. She also left the part that this weapon used to be her mother's out, because then everybody would ask her where's her mom, and she really didn't want to tell anyone her personal information. Especially to Shadow. 

   "You're a mere acquantance to me, Pinky." Shadow argued. But Aurora grinned at the black hedgehog, and replied, "But you're a good friend to me." Shadow just stared at her, and they exchanged looks.

   "Leave them be." ordered the queen, making the guards back away from the two hedgehogs. Oh thank goodness, Aurora thought with relief.

   "Bring Ember to the UrgentCare wing. We'll need to do something about that scratch on your face." instructed Sally, as a nurse (who was a bat) walked Ember to a tent that must've been their mini-hospital. But he still had a few questions to answer in order for everything to make sense to Aurora.
