Chapter 36: Familiar Faces

"Just a little further." Skye informed everyone as they all kept on walking through the mist. "Oh, good. Because this walk has been pretty boring." Blitz bluntly commented. Aurora rolled her eyes, and placed her hands in her face out of irritation. 

   "I know a way to turn that frown upside down!" Sonic said turning around with a smile on his face. 

   Aurora immediately perked her head up watching her dad place his hand under his armpit. Making arm farts and embarrassing his daughter in the progress. 

   "That is just gross!" Blitz bluntly said. A shocked Skye commented, "Your Majesty! Have you forgotten your manners? We are about to meet the lady of the lake and your sacred sword Caliburn!" 

   "Will you just relax? I, as a king, was just trying to make the kid smile." 

   "I don't need cheering up." 

   Skye sighed, and continued. "Just please do behave yourselves." As she led the group a little more in the mist, Aurora thought to herself, Dad's always been immature. Another thing, how can he be king Arthur in this dimension?

   She whispered in his ear, "You didn't tell me that you were king Arthur of Camelot once!" 

   "I wasn't!" he whispered back. "But if we play along, the faster we can find Rouge and for you to tell me what you've been up to. Besides, I could use some more fame right now." 

   Aurora felt an itch that they should find Shard, but she wasn't too sure. Something seemed off with her. With her suddenly changing sides, her and Ember not getting along at all, now her vanishing out of nowhere in this world. Unless she was taken to prison again. Lol. 

   "Hey, aren't you the strange glowing chao that led Shadow into the halls before our home was demolished?" Blitz asked, poking Itzy. "He's a sprite, Blitz." He nodded, and it dawned on Aurora. As they all started to cross a bridge, the sprite started to squeak, and lie on her shoulder. He kept squeaking as if to say, "You didn't know?" 

   "Itzy, did you bring Shadow over to help?" she asked. "What?" Sonic asked in a curt voice, jerking his head to face her. Itzy squeaked and zapped her. Is that a yes?

   "Wait just a second there, Tiny! You're saying that Shadow came in and saved you where and from what?!" 

   "Arthur..." 

   "Um..." Aurora mumbled. Itzy face-palmed himself. 

   "Are you sure we are talking about the same hardcase?" 

   "Dad!" 

   "Silence!" Skye ordered, leaving everybody staring at her. She motioned them to stop, and she flew towards the middle of a pavilion where a rusty sword lay on a stone-pew that surrounded a round table. 

   Aurora remembered that her mom and Cream would always do charity every Wednesday when she was growing up. When hard-shelled visitors came to Hedgehog Village, they'd always try to at least talk to them. With the persuasion of Cream of course. Dad said that they were crazy when they hosted a birthday party for Uncle Eggman and his robots when he turned 68. Speaking of which, I wonder where they are right now. Considering the fact that I've hardly seen them since...

   "Caliburn! King Arthur has returned!" Skye called out, tapping the walls of the gazebo with her tall staff. 

   Why doesn't it surprise me that Skye is very similar to Sora? 

   "King Arthur you say?" a voice replied. Everybody but Skye looked around to see who it was. Suddenly the sword swooped into the air and zoomed to Sonic. "Wait, did that sword just...?" Sonic asked. Aurora's mind popped, and she shook her head to see if she was imagining things.
