Hello, fellow Shadora fans! I know this book is said to be completed, and there was only one next-gen short story at the end. I'll admit that's lame. I've been pretty busy with things like other writing projects, and just life in general, aside from school stuff. But I thought that I could write another next-gen story for you guys since it's been forever since the last one. Hope you like it. If you have suggestions, please, please, please don't be afraid to share in the comments. Nyx Wind out~!
——————
'Twas a busy Tuesday for everybody. Team Piper (Piper the Hedgehog, Aithne the Hedgecat, and Ruby the Bat) was hanging out at Ruby's house.
Team Anti (Nova the Hedgehog, Caitlynn Prower, and Ashton the Wolf) hung out at the craft cabin that Aurora runs.
Team Zipper (Zane the Hedgehog, Dustin Prower, and Cobblestone the Wolf) were playing hide-and-seek on the outskirts of Uncle Ember and Aunt Rosebell's kingdom grounds. Cobblestone is the seeker, and not a good sport.
"Come on, guys! Why is it always me that has to find you?" Cobblestone stepped over logs, and twigs that were in the way. No one answered him. He groaned. "They think it's so funny to pick on me just because I'm seven years younger. I wish I could switch with little bro and hang with Nova."
"Just come and find us, Cobblestone." Dustin moaned from a distance. Cobblestone sighed, and followed the sound. "I'm coming."
——————-
Zane laughed quietly while holing himself up in a burrow, Cobblestone naïvely walking past his hiding spot. Maybe I am being a bit uncool with this, but then again, who's the Tim Allen in this, huh?
What stopped him out of his thoughts were footsteps. Heading in his direction. You'll never find me! He sneakily crawled out of the little hole, thanked the froglodyte that lived there, and spin-dashed away from his spot. He was running in the trees, away from the footsteps. He looked behind him and saw no one thankfully. "Heh, hopefully Dustin won't be mad that I took a little detour, and may have snuck around under the little wolf's nose, again."
He looked in front of him as he ran, and suddenly he was shoved to the side, his chest hurting. He didn't have a chance to get up, when the person grabbed his leg, smacking his body against the trees, then into the air. It felt like his back was cut in half. But he was still breathing, and recovering fine. So obviously it wasn't. He saw his attacker land gracefully on her feet, a sword pointed at his chest. She has cream fur, baby blue eyes, a gray spot on her left eye, wore a black and pink dress, and high-knee boots. "Woah, who taught you these sweet moves?"
"Uh, my dad? My mom, as well." The girl didn't lower her weapon. Zane remained calm, but cocky. "Mine, too. Care to battle with me?"
The girl raised an eyebrow full of skepticism. She allowed him to stand up. "Don't be so sure. I'm so fast, you'll be begging for mercy."
"Hah, you're talking to the fastest guy alive!"
The girl scoffed, and smiled. She raised her sword at his neck, back straight. "Very well, then. I shall see what you—whaa!" Zane dashed around her, and spin-dashed her from behind. Then front, side, until she was able to repel his further attacks with her sword, which stretched out and slapped him away. She did a spin-dash, but with her sword sticking out (like how Sonic moved in Black Knight; let's go knight of the wind!). She got him a few times.
When he kicked her, making her trip, she used her sword to parry him back. Turns out, she unintentionally chopped off two trees in half, and one fell on her leg, and she couldn't get out. Another was about to fall on her, but then Zane jumped and punched it out of the way with immense strength. Leaving the girl shellshocked. She forgot she was even stuck.
He chuckled and pulled the tree off her, and handed her sword back to her. "You saved me?"
"Yeah, I do that sometimes." Zane had his hands together behind his head finishing the look off with a carefree smile. "But I nearly killed you." The girl remained confused as she got up and dusted herself off.
"Yep."
"You're gonna do a lot better than that, if you are to earn my respect, man."
Zane laughed and ruffled his hair. "Who says I am? I don't know anything about you, not even your name. Zane the Hedgehog."
"Speck." The girl put her sword in its sheath. She and Zane looked at each other for a while, until they heard Dustin and Cobblestone calling out, "Zane! Zane where are you?"
"Well, Speck." Zane winked and saluted her goofily. She leaned on one leg, her hand on her hip, waiting for him to continue. "Gotta go! Bye!" He ran off before she could respond. He couldn't get his mind off her. Argh, too bad I couldn't stay and chat. But what else was I supposed to say? 'Hey, want to go grab some grub sometime?' 'Catch you later, call me~...' Ah well.
"Found you!" Zane stopped running, the heels of his feet screeching him to a halt right in front of Dustin and Cobblestone.
Cobblestone crossed his arms proudly with a twinkle in his eyes, while Dustin coughed out the dirt that clouded his mouth. "Aw, drats," Zane pretended to sound surprised as he snapped his fingers. "How on Mobius did you find me?"
"Just a hunch," replied Dustin, giving off a smug look. "You're a magnet for trouble." Zane clicked his tongue after adding, "Noted, and the ladies." Cobblestone gagged, before tugging on his arm. "It's your turn, Zane!"
"Alright, fine." To which Cobblestone cheered, and frantically sought a place to hide.

"Hah! I'm in the lead!" Aurora pumped her hands in the air after placing her pawn 5 spaces on the board game. She stuck her tongue at her husband goofily. "Beat that, Shady Hedgie~." Shadow chuckled and wrapped his arm around his wife's waist. "I win every time, Cheater."
"You do not."
"Do too. But I like it when you're naughty."
Aurora punched Shadow in the arm, but that didn't stop him from tickling her and making out with her.
Piper and Nova awkwardly sat next to each other on the couch. Piper shielding her eyes from them (who purposely like to embarrass their children at home) while Nova was knitting a hat for Caitlynn. Their papa got between them, saying, "Back off, Faker. I'm still her dad." He turned his head towards Zane, who lay nonrespondent on the island chair. "Z, It's your turn." Their step-grandmother Sally Acorn giggled slightly and held onto Sonic.
Piper folded her arms, her leg above the other. Zane didn't move. He just stared off into space, his arms dangling on the arms of his chair. Everyone looked at him, waiting for his response. He gave none. "Hey, Zane!" Sally waved her hand in front of his face. Nothing. Shadow teleported behind him. "Take your turn or give me ten, boy!"
Zane immediately jumped like a wet cat, startled out of his trance. "I'm not sleeping! I mean, uh, what-up?" He shifted his hair to look cool like his dad and papa. Which his mom found amusing.
"Your turn." Shadow patted his son's shoulder and teleported back to his spot next to Aurora.

Sorry it's so short. But I wanted to post at least something in regards to Speck and Zane. Do you guys think they should become something more? Or just stay acquaintanced rivals? If so, I'll make another part that shows their romance blossoming.
