Chapter 31: First Date?

Shadow just stared at the scene, surprised at the fact that Sally was sneaking around here. What was she up to? 

   "Queen Sally?" Aurora asked, look full of unbelief. "What are you..." 

   "Please, Aurora you can't tell anyone! Including your dad!" 

   "Why?" 

   "Because I'm the one who saved him, and I'll tell you more if you keep the secret."

   Shadow watched and listened intentionally to the conversation. What is she implying?

Aurora chaos controlled back to camp, rubbing her head trying to suck in everything that had just happened. Sally was there when it happened. But how? Has she always been sneaky? Is she the figure in my dreams?

   "Rara!" someone called behind her. She looked back to see Bunnie with her dangling braid running over to her. "Tails has something for you." She then placed a Communicator on the pink hedgehog's wrist. It glowed a bright green, and it in was the shape of a circle, like her mom's. 

   "Tha' way you'll always be in reach! Welcome to the club, suga'." 

   All Aurora could say in response was "Thanks." The robot bunny tightened the device on the hedgehog's wrist, smiling. "Don't mention it." she chuckled. After securing the Communicator onto her wrist, she placed her prosthetic hand on her shoulder.

   "What happened to your arm and legs?" Aurora asked her in a sympathetic tone. "Ah'll tell yah later, darlin'." 

   Aurora stared into her eyes, and saw that it must've been hard. Knowing that she's gone through so much, yet still pushing through. Having twins for children to top that off! 

   The rabbit placed her other hand on Aurora's cheek, and said, "You should probably get some shut-eye. It's been a long day." 

   Aurora looked at her, and her motherly look reminded her of Cream's and her mom's. Combined. She closed her eyes, and nodded. "I guess I do need some time to think."

Shadow was about to chaos control out of the scene, wanting to ask Sally directly. But he remembered Eggman, and his henchmen. He thought about taking Orbot and Cubot back to headquarters. He also still didn't completely trust that fox. His voice had the same hint of deception as Lyric (see comic in Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal). 

   They know more about that stranger than I. They would be of good use to me. Shadow grinned at the thought. 

   Finally those two boltbrains wouldn't be wasting his time. 

   Shadow grabbed Orbot into his hand, and touched Cubot as he wished with all his heart to be at camp. "CHAOS CONTROL!" But then Aurora slipped into his mind. 

   By the time there was a humongous glow and the next moment, he was in the middle of a crowd. Still holding a purple chaos emerald in one hand, Orbot's head in the other, while Cubot's head still remained at his foot. 

   Everybody blinked at him, and whispered to each other. Ignoring them all, Shadow threw Orbot in the air, and kicked Cubot in the other direction. "Fix them, and return them to me." 

   "Hey, what're you-" a random human boy tried to protest. But Shadow just gave him a death glare, clearly shutting him up. Everybody then dispersed including the members that caught the disabled bots. While a few little kids asked who he was, their parents just ushered them away from him saying stuff like, "Let's go, sweetie."
