Sonic Boom: Travels (Shadora)

Chapter 14: Tensions

"Sora, are you sure this is safe?" Sonic asked as he was holding the young bat's legs as tight as he could. "Sonic, will you calm down and let me go?" Sora replied in a gruff tone. Knuckles stood beside them inside a force field/bubble that the young bat's staff created while hovering over to another island above the water. "But what if you lose concentration and we drown to death?" the blue hedgehog objected, as Knuckles gave him a look that read Really, man? 

   "She said that she's had experience with this kind of stuff. She won't kill us!"

   "GUYS!!!!" Sora snapped, making both the boys stare at her. The bubble suddenly wavered towards the sea, making Sonic freak out even more. Sora grunted as she shut her eyes as hard as she could, focusing hard. The bubble suddenly floated back up into the air to the length it was before as they continued to head towards a distant island. 

   "I can't concentrate with this annoying guy grabbing me, and you two arguing!"

   Sonic slowly let go of Sora, and he shakily stepped over to Knuckles, and sat down while grabbing Knuckles' leg, next to the dismantled Morpho. Sora and Knuckles just rolled their eyes, and the bat added, "Just stop talking if you want to have a safe ride there. For his sake, mostly." 

   Sonic snapped back, "How would you feel if you can't swim!" "You wouldn't have to worry about swimming if you'd just shut up!" Sonic was about to reply, but Knuckles cut him off, shaking his head. 

   Sonic growled, and grumpily looked at the water they were passing by, giving up his argument.  As he stared at his reflection on the ocean, he suddenly saw Amy Rose sitting beside him. He quietly drew in his breath, and said, "Ames?" 

   But the reflection Amy Rose didn't reply. She just smiled, and rubbed his reflection's shoulder. He couldn't help but shed a tear as he remembered his daughter going out on her own. Missing. Amy, I'm sorry. he thought. He felt as if his wife rubbed his cheek, and whispering, "I know, Sonic." 

   Sonic closed his eyes, and touched his cheek where Amy had touched. He looked back at his reflection, and saw that his wife was gone. Having a hard time controlling his waterworks, Sonic called after Amy, saying, "AMY!!" 

   Sora squeaked, and the bubble popped out of nowhere. Everyone started falling out of midair, making Sonic think that he should've listened to the bat girl (I know, a name for Rouge. But she's not here at the moment.). 

   Just at the moment when he thought he was going to drown, he called out, "Knuckles? Could use a little help here!" Knuckles caught him, and then they land on some sand with a thump. "Oh. Never mind." Sonic said, as he shrugged his shoulders. 

   "You're lucky we made it to shore just in time. This is what happens when you don't listen to me!" Sora explained as she literally flew to the guys, nearly touching the ground. She then dropped Morpho on top of Knuckles. "Anyway, it's getting dark. We need to act fast if we want to get info out of him." 

   Sonic and Knuckles just looked at each other, and they both got off of each other. Sonic carried Morpho by the legs, and Knuckles carried his head. Sonic sighed, and thought, I sure hope Tiny's okay. Please Aurora. Stay safe.

Aurora just explored around the camp, looking for Shadow. Surprisingly it looked smaller by outer appearance. The inside is huge! But she was curious as to what happened to Ember. It's one thing that Ember got practically mauled by that meerkat and her weapons. But the scar suddenly taking action? That makes no sense! Wait...

   Come to think of it, Shard did something to her sword before trying to strike Ember. What if...

   "Hello there young lady!" a deep voice bellowed behind Aurora. She jumped, and turned around. There stood TW Barker! She gasped full of surprise. She also realized that she left her hammer in the UrgentCare wing! "Hold up." the pink hedgehog motioned, and she zoomed in and out the Hospital tent snatching her hammer as she went. Stopping right in front of the dog, she held her hammer tight, ready for a fight. She narrowed her eyes at him, and said, "What're you doing here, TW Barker?"
