Prompt: Jealousy.

SQUIP Unit 6677 was very proud of his host's improvement. She had been making amazing progress. She no longer spent all of her time reading strange, pornographic fanfictions and drawing (though Unit 6677 had to admit that Beilah's art was wonderful, especially for someone her age). She was now doing better at school, dressing nicer, eating better, and, overall, seemed happier. Beilah was still spending a great deal of time perfecting her artistic abilities doodling for fun, as well as doing other, more personal things with her time. Now, though, she was dressing and socializing far better and seemed much happier than she had been before he arrived into her life.

Unit 6677 knew that he should be very proud of her- the girl was doing amazingly well in almost every aspect he had worked on her with (though she still had to clear her search history a great deal more frequently than he would have liked (he didn't care as much about this, though, so long as it didn't get in the way of other, more pressing matters)). Despite being incredibly proud of his host and how far she had come, he couldn't help but feel almost jealous.

Before, Beilah spent a great deal of her time in her head. She seemed to almost constantly have something strange going on inside her head, from Mr. Blue Sky playing on a seemingly endless loop, to ideas for drawings and comics, to character designs, to fantasies and thoughts about her favourite video games and other interests. Still, as most humans did, she spent a great deal of time in her head, creating and experiencing a vast amount of strange and unique thoughts and ideas. Now, though, Beilah was spending far less time with Unit 6677, spending far more time hanging out with people who had begun taking interests in her after her grand transformation.

Unit 6677 did not appreciate his own jealousy. He had to admit, it was incredibly unattractive, regardless of who was the one feeling jealous. He hated to admit that he was jealous that Beilah was spending less time with and hated that he missed sharing nice moments with her. He was intended to help her progress, not hold her back due to his own pesky emotions getting in the way.

Still, he couldn't help but think fondly about her and all of the things they could do together. He painted pictures in his brain of moments to come the same way Beilah created beautiful works of art on paper (though his thoughts were far more realistic and far less grand). He found himself on more than one occasion thinking about what it would be like to share different experiences with her- a walk through the forest, cuddling while reading good books, playing Dungeons and Dragons together, driving around during gentle rainstorms. It was grossly sweet and domestic, fluffy in a way that he thought suited Beilah's thoughts quite well, while completely contrasting with his own.

Despite how much he wanted to push these feelings away, Unit 6677 couldn't help himself. He acted on his ridiculous, downright human-esque impulses.

"Beilah. Beilah, wake up," it was late and he knew this. Although he was typically an advocate for his host sleeping throughout the entire night for eight to nine hours every night (which she usually did willingly by herself, even on school nights) he viewed tonight as a bit of a cheat night. Besides, this night was special (and he was less concerned as Beilah had no classes nor other obligations to commit to in the morning).

"Wh-what?" Beilah's voice was bleary from tiredness as she blinked up at him, "Mr. Squip? What time is it."
"Approximately two seventeen AM."

"Why...?"

"I have something important to show you. Come on, put on a sweater."

Beilah groggily and reluctantly slunk out from under her warm covers, tugging on an oversized hoodie that hung on her frame comfortably and slipping her glasses on after rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"Come with me," he said gently, voice lowered to match the quiet of the outside world, even though no one else could hear him. He extended a hand to her in offering. She took it, allowing herself to be lead from her warm, cosy room, out through the back of the house, and into the yard.

Beilah turned to him, eyeing him questioningly, but Unit 6677 said nothing. He simply sat down on the ground, leaning back, eyes trained on the sky. Beilah didn't hesitate, following suit shortly after. She laid back in the grass gazing up at the sky hanging above them.

At first, Beilah wasn't quite sure why her Squip had woken her up. Of course, the sky looked absolutely beautiful, an endless abyss of black, dark blues, and wine swirling together in a glorious mass, clusters of glistening gold and silver stars hanging from the sky, thousands of lightyears away, yet still somehow casting a stunning glow visible from Earth. It was astonishing, even though it was something that the pair of them could see every day.

Beilah tilted her head to one side, meeting her Squip's eyes. He smiled softly at her, simply pressing a finger to his own lips before sweeping his gaze back up to the sky.

When Beilah lifted her head, she was met with an amazing sight. The sky was still a swirling mass of dark colours, but something was starkly different. What looked like formations of pure silver and diamond shot across the sky at insane speeds, creating beautiful, glowing light as they moved, and leaving sweeping trails of fading light and stardust in their trail. They were all slightly different, nothing like the uniform shooting stars Beilah had come to recognize in movies. They all shot across the sky at different angles, rocketing beautifully against the dark backdrop of the night sky. Though most of them appeared silvery-white, several of them also seemed to be faintly tinted with other colours like orange or pink, giving off subtly coloured light and trails as they flew overhead.

She was completely star-struck, mouth gaping open in silent awe.

The meteor shower lasted for several minutes before the falling of the glorious creators of light slowed to a stop, ceasing their beautiful torrent of glowing rain across the night sky. Despite the shower being over and the shooting stars being gone, they both laid there in silence for several minutes more, staring up at the sky as they continued to take in what they had just witnessed.

Unit 6677 knew that not every day could be like this. He understood fully that Beilah could not devote all of her time to him and he on no level wanted her to give up her life to show him affection or spend time with him.

Still, moments like these were perfect. He knew that they were rare, but the sense of close, calm peace drifting between them, the lack of stress of life hanging over them left them both in a lovely state of shared bliss.

Moments like these, moments when he and Beilah could simply enjoy the beauties of the world without any worry were the moments that made everything completely and utterly worth it, no matter what happened between them or anyone else.
