Feeling... Feelings

The Horde was a strange place to grow up in, especially when it came to love of any kind. Love was seen as weak and unnecessary and with all of the time poured into fighting and training, Bell could almost understand why it was viewed that way. Still, she couldn't help but feel... her feelings. She loved plenty of things- there were lots of things to love.

The few friends that she had were absolutely amazing and they 100% made the list of things she loved. She had grown up at their sides- never thinking of them as siblings so much as close friends and teammates throughout her entire life. They shared many experiences. The first time she won a battle, they had all been there. Katra, Adora, Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio had all been there. They had fought and trained at her side for years and it had only drawn them closer together. She loved spending time with them, even when it was as basic as sleeping or eating in one another's company.

Bell loved Catra's dark humour and energetic personality. She was always sneaking up on different members of their team and scaring them. As much as it genuinely startled her when she did it to her, she found it extremely funny watching her sneak up on other members of their team. She wasn't the best with dealing with any emotions aside from anger, rage, and millions of other emotions that fell under that spectrum and violent, negative emotions, but her cracking jokes in bad situations could loosen the strain on their lives.

She admired Adora's optimism and belief in them. She was pragmatic and extremely capable both when fighting and mapping out plans for doing so. Even in bad situations out in the training fields, she would push the entire team to do their best and move forward, offering as much help as she could along the way. She loved how much Adora cared about others and doing the right thing.

Rogelio's smile could brighten her day and make her laugh. Maybe it was the way his rows of gleaming teeth looked so threatening while being used to perform such a genuinely contented gesture. As threatening as Rogelio seemed with high height, beady eyes, and dagger-like teeth, he was far softer than he seemed.

There were also smaller, simpler things that Bella loved.

She loved training with her friends, as stressful as it could be. She loved the exhilarating feel of successfully dodging every attack thrown her way. She couldn't help but smile as the story of her and her friends' success unravelled before her. Every training session- despite its numerous draw-backs- was incredibly fun. It brought the entire group closer together and helped establish them as a functional team. It made her happy to grow closer with them over shared success on the training feild.

Bell loved the warm blanket draped over her sturdy bed that kept her cocooned in warmth as she dreamed- another thing she loved. Dreams. Her dreams were always strange and nonsensical. Her dreams did not consist of the greys that made up the world around her. Instead, her dreams consisted of explosions of colours. The colours were so intense and saturated that they seemed utterly overwhelming each night when they occurred and left her saddened by the dreary appearance of her real home. Aside from the colours, flowers and trees sprouted up all around her, their branches and vines twisting together. Sometimes, the branches of the trees would reach out to her and wrap themselves around her. Instead of constricting her and filling her with the fear that she was supposed to feel when being in a setting so similar to the forest not far from her homeland, she felt safe and warmed. It did not feel like an attack, but a hug from an old friend.

She loved sharing meals with her friends. The food was the same as it always was, but that didn't make it bad. In fact, the familiarity fo it was nice. As was crowding around the food with her friends as they spoke about anything and everything.

There was one thing- well, person, that won her heart. One person that she loved more than she did the rest of the things about the Horde.

That person was Kyle.

What was there to not love about him? His fluffy hair swooshed and bounced as he moved and felt absolutely amazing to card her fingers through. His eyes were a dark blue that matched the sky. They held incredible depth and seemed to go on forever in a never-ending haze of blues with the smallest flecks of silver or grey hidden within like secret gemstones and precious metals. They were expressive and could always, without fail, show her precisely what he was feeling when she gazed into them. He wasn't the best at fighting, but his clumsy, klutziness somehow added to his charm. It was stupid and silly to watch him metaphorically stumble over his words nervously as he literally stumbled over himself at the same time. Somehow, his ridiculous actions and stuttering words drew her to him even more. The dope was completely adorable- both in his looks and actions. He was nervous but compassionate. He cared tremendously and was sweet beyond words.

Bell loved him.

In secret, Bell wanted to whisk Kyle away from the dreary darkness that was their homeland and find the place of her dreams. The home of colours, music, and beautiful, friendly plants that filled the air with their beautiful scents and bore magnificent fruits. She wanted to bring him to the secret place inside her head and lie on the ground with him, enjoying the feeling of the soft, luscious grass beneath their skin together. She wanted to see him as he took the first bite from one of those fruits hanging from the full branches of the trees. Although she could conjure forth no taste to mind when in her secret oasis in her head, the astounding beauty of the fruits made her believe that their taste would match their looks. She wanted more than anything to take Kyle to this wonderful, perfect place and introduce him to things neither of them had ever truly experienced before.

But this was in secret. It was silly and she would never tell anyone- not even Kyle.
