The world was far from perfect for Nina and Silver- nor for people in general. After the plague, things had only gotten worse. With the wrong people in power, money being hard to come by for the two young, aspiring artists, falling out with family, and general issues with the state of the world, their optimism became weaker and weaker. Silver had never really enjoyed being alive and there were many times he had thought about changing that. While Nina didn't necessarily share that sentiment, life... wasn't turning out amazingly recently and she was quickly losing her faith that things would eventually turn out. Things just got worse and worse, never better. It was difficult to stay positive- it was difficult to stay alive.
So, when the "opportunity" arose, they took it.
Out into the woods, hand in hand, palms sweaty, two long pieces of rope coiled in their arms, a plan to end it all and, hopefully, find something better.
Something happened, though.
The soft, warm glow of dazzling gold shining caught their attention, out of the corner of their eyes. It was a bright orb of light that drew them in the moment they caught a glimpse of it. it was nearly translucent at the edges but had a more solid colour at its centre, as though it were genuinely a floating source of light. It was beautiful.
After exchanging a glance, Nina and Silver simultainiously dropped their ropes and headed over to it to investigate, both nearly entranced by it.
As they grew closer and closer to the strange orb, the warmth of the light wrapped itself around them as if it were pulling them into a gentle embrace. The brightness of the light grew in intensity, blocking out everything else around them. The previous darkness of the thick forest was completely erased by the bold glow of light. They could see nothing beyond swirling gold, yellow, and white.
And then, the light vanished.
They blinked rapidly, their eyes burning from the otherworldly glow. Colourful spots blurred their vision, leftover from the spots of light that etched its way into their minds.
Once their vision cleared again, though, they were met with a completely different scene. While they were still in the centre of what seemed to be a thick forest, they were standing in a forest with lucious grass surrounding them. There were two large slabs of land cradled by the woods surrounding them, a quietly babbling brook flowing between them acting as the only divider. On either side of them two elaborately crafted items: a sword and a sheild.
They didn't know what had happened, but one thing was abundantly clear: they were not home anymore.
As mentioned previously, Grammarly is a WHORE on Wattpad, so... mistakes were made and not fixed. Suffer. <3
