Chapter 10: Attacked

I always slept with my tiger ears. But this time I didn't.  I wish I did  though. Back in Ziabali I always had to be alert but here, nothing ever happened so I believed in the false sense that I was safe. But this time I was wrong.

We had slept hours ago, when I heard a creak of something........probably a drawer. I got startled and woke up to find a bulk man searching our drawers. Before I could see who it was, I moved my hands in a circular motion which brought out the whip and I hit him in the back.

He jumped out of the window and I followed, jumping on Charlotte's bed so she could wake up. I didn't see what her reaction was when I jumped out of the window. It was a lucky thing that I was half tiger, I could always land on my feet. I hit him again with the whip he turned around slowly like the hit barely  affected  him.

"Hello Roxella."

I gasped.

Charlotte's POV
I thought I heard sounds in the middle of my sleep but when I heard someone jumping on my bed I woke up startled. Everything that occurred happened so quickly. I saw a huge man jump out of the window and Roxy followed him. I was going to shout  ' You're going to break your legs ' but for some reason she landed on her feet. She hit the guy with a whip. Where did she get the whip from? The man had to be a criminal. I dialed Ray. He picked up his phone. I didn't expect him to.

"Why are you disturbing my sleep?" He groaned.

"There's a criminal at my house."

"Criminal?Are you  sure?"

"Of course  I'm  sure you dumbass." I hissed. That woke him up..

"I'm on my way."

Next was to call Henry. While Ray was grumpy when you woke him up ,Henry always  had a knack for complaining.

"What's wrong with you? It's two in the morning and......"

"Before you continue, listen to me. There's a guy who I think is a criminal at our house fighting Roxy......."

He hung up. I hope that meant he was coming. I ran to my mom's room. She had to be awake by now because  of all the noise.

Roxy's POV
"You're the man who has been whispering my name in my head!"I said angrily.

"That's right." He said with a sly grin. Why did he look so........ Ziabalian like.

"How do you know me and how did you enter my head?" I demanded.

"How would I not know my nemesis, the tiger......virago." He said while prolonging the name tiger virago. He had spoken in the Ziabalian language.

"Who are you and how do you know me?" I asked him in the same language and took my fighting stance. I didn't get why he wasn't answering my questions correctly.

"You don't expect me to answer that, do you?"

" That's it!"I shouted.

I kicked him. This guy was really annoying me. We started to fight, me giving him a few punches and avoiding his. I had never used a whip so I didn't use it that much. When my wrists rubbed against each other, my bracelet turned into a bow staff.

Perfect I thought. He too seemed to have a bow staff and was obviously stronger than me but I didn't give up. He was so close to making me fall over but I did a split and he missed. I supported my weight on my hands and turned myself while still doing a split and made him fall.

At a distance, I saw Captain Man and Henry but as Kid Danger. They literally had their jaws on the ground. I changed the bow staff back to a whip. I lassoed him with it and it shocked him with electricity and he fell. I stared at the bracelet in amazement. I hoped they wouldn't ask what that was. I shouted to them,

"I caught the bad guy for you." I smirked.  But the smirk faded when I fell to my knees as excruciating pain entered my body. The man was back up looking at me with hatred.

"You little brat." He said while gritting.

I could feel tears forming in my eyes. What was he doing to me? How was he doing it to me? The pain intensified.

I screamed.

Henry's POV
As soon as I heard something to do with Roxy, I ran out of bed and blew a bubble. I ran to Charlotte's house to find Roxy fighting. And she was winning.

"Kid, why aren't you......" Ray asked from behind me and I pointed at Roxy.

He opened his mouth wide, I guessed in shock. "She's amazing. Do you know her?"

"That's Roxy, Charlotte's cousin."I  stated. After watching her, she ended up defeating the bad guy with a whip. She has a whip?, I thought, and a bow staff? This girl continued to amaze me.

" I caught the bad guy for you." She shouted proudly.

All of a sudden, she went on her knees and screamed. The criminal was back up.

"What are you doing to her?" I shouted.

I got angry pretty quickly. He was hurting her.I ran up to the guy and punched him very fast with my hypermotility. He didn't seem to feel a thing. I was blasted and thrown off my feet. I hit my head on the ground hard. I felt little dizzy and I went I stood up, I felt blood on my cheek. I realized the guy was gone when I stood up. I spotted  her not to far from  me. She was on the ground and she looked.....dead. I increased my speed.

"Roxy?" I whispered as I held her in my arms.

"What's wrong with her?" Charlotte asked as she ran towards us. Her mom was standing at the flower bed. Captain Man came and knelt down.

"Is she breathing?" He asked.

"I'm not sure."

Ray felt her pulse. "She's still breathing."

I hugged her. I knew if she opened  her eyes she wouldn't have liked it but apparently I liked her. More than a friend and there's no way she was ever going to stop how I felt about her. Even though she'd beat me up a hundred times.

She looked like she was in so much pain. Her tears were drying up. She had fear and hopelessness etched on her face. It was scary that she looked  like  this. For the two weeks I  had known  her, she was headstrong and  fearless. I sighed.  This was not meant to  happen. For some reason, I felt like she knew that man and once she was awake, I was going to find out if she did.
