"Dad, I'm scared." I said as we passed through the thick trees and vines.
"There's nothing to worry about, sweetie." My dad reassured me.
"But we're going to meet tigers." I continued to let him know that I was still scared despite his words.
"We're not meeting them. We're just studying them from a far." My dad said in a comforting voice that did not comfort me at all. I started to get goosebumps which always happened when I got scared and frightened. " Stop being a scaredy cat. Helaki isn't scared."
I looked over at Helaki who gave me a comforting smile. "The only reason I'm not scared is because I know we're not getting near the tigers."
" You hear Roxella," my father said not quite getting Helaki's words. " There's nothing to be worried about."
We travelled through the forest as my dad used his binoculars to look out for tigers. I began to daydream, remembering how Brooklyn used to be with my best friend, Ba.......
"We can't find any tigers. Let's just go back to the village." Helaki's voice startled me out of my thoughts.
My dad groaned. "Two weeks and I still haven't seen a tiger. Is their something wrong with your tigers?"
"No. "Helaki said anxiously. She was obviously hiding something.
"Helaki, please tell me what happened to the tigers?"
"I'm sorry. I can't tell you."
My dad seemed to be frustrated. I wasn't going to hear my dad force info out of my friend so I continued to walk in the forest. As I walked through the trees, I felt someone or something was watching me. I started to shiver as I heard growls behind me. I turned away to see a tiger growling. The first thing that came to my mind was run.
"Dad!!!!!" I screamed as I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. When I saw them in a distance I shouted, "Tiger!!!!!" and they started running. The tiger was getting close to me and that's I realized I was losing my breath. My legs were becoming wobbly. I didn't think I could make it. My dad and Helaki climbed the nearby tree and they both knew I couldn't climb. I reached the tree but I tried my best to climb but ended up falling down and twisting my ankle.
The tiger came to stand in front of me with two other tigers. "Don't eat me." I said covering my face. Nothing happened so I removed my hands from my face. They stared at me like they were studying me. " Please don't eat me. I'm not tasty. I'm just a puny girl who's scared of everything. I bet there's other tasty things to eat." I continued.
"We know." said the tiger on the left.I gasped. But this isn't possible. A talking tiger? No no no no. My mind was playing with me.
"You can talk?" I knew it was a stupid question to ask but I had to ask it.
"Obviously no. You got the power to speak to animals, you've just never realized it. We're using magic right now."
"How is that possible?"I asked .
"That's because we gave you that power. We're giving you another power."
Okay. This was mind blowing. Here I was talking with 3 tigers and my dad was looking at me like I was a weirdo. Helaki was smiling like she knew what was going on. The tigers all started to bow all of sudden.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"All hail the new tiger virago."said the tiger in the middle and it roared calling other tigers. Other tigers came, bowing down to me. Many animals started to appear bowing down to me.
