The blue one stepped forward. There was a shift in the crowd as all the pegasi, including Acyan, stuck their left leg out in front of them and tucked their right foot under them, putting them in a kneeling position. I dropped to one knee, bowing my head. I stole a quick glance at Acyan who gave me a slight nod of approval.
After everyone stood, the blue pegasus spoke,
"Welcome Changeling! I am Aquana, queen of the water pegasi. This is Queen Macoma, if you couldn't tell, she is the Earth pegasi queen. And this is the fire pegasi King, Lucan."
She nodded her head toward the two pegasi beside her. They both gave a slight bow of their heads. I noticed she didn't name the white pegasus in the tree.
"Now Changeling, you have come to save all elves and pegasi alike, yes?" She asked.
"Uhm... I guess so, Miss." I spoke quietly.
"Good! And you, of course, know exactly what's going on?" She asked, a very slight tremble in her voice.
The other two pegasi, now behind her, nodded slowly. Acyan nudge me,
"Go with it." Hey whispered.
I nodded and the crowd cheered. If horses could cheer, that is. Acyan moveed me toward the hoard of wings and hooves. As we pushed through, I stayed close to Acyan. He swatted pegasi with his tail. Finally, we broke free of the crowd. I climbed onto Acyan's back, scrambling to take hold as he flew into the air.
As the crowd disappeared in the distance, I noticed three figures in the sky ahead.
"How come I had to lie?" I asked Acyan.
"Hm?" He answered.
"You told me to 'go with it'! The other royal pegasi were nodding their heads too! What's up with that?"
He heaved a long sigh. Shaking his mane loose of my grip, he glanced back.
"Listen Changeling, you had to lie. Otherwise, all those pegasi would have paniced."
"Why?"
"It's a long story. We don't have time to go over it right now." Hey soared over a thick forest.
Ahead, a large tree palace rose into the sky. As we neared it, I realized just how tall the tree was. Very tall.
