Basma was right. Tabitha completely forgot about the issue. Sure it took two months but at least she has forgotten.
She even seem to forgot that she removed me from the Divas. Just yesterday after school was over she invited me to her birthday.Things between me and Basma was going better than before. She was the closest thing to a sister to me and I was really grateful.
She was super supportive and even though she gets angry every time I mentioned my sex life she still didn't judge me for it.
Sometimes I felt guilty but it was something I had to do. What I didn't understand at the time was why the other girls are doing it. I mean they were stinking rich so why seek mine elsewhere. I made a note to ask Basma about it.
"Ow!" I moaned when I stood up. I had been feeling sick for the past week.
Whenever I sat down and stood up I felt super dizzy and my head begins pounding. If not that I had my period two weeks ago I would have suspected I was pregnant.
It was weird and I didn't know why it was happening.
"Are you okay Fatima?" My English teacher, Mrs Adam questioned.
My hand to my forehead, I nodded and immediately flinched from the sharp pain.
I proceeded to walk out when she stopped me. "You're pregnant." It was not a question rather a statement.
I paused and then turned to look at her bewildered. "What?" I managed to croaked out.
"Come on Fatima, I'm a mother of four, I know how a pregnant lady look like."
She sounded completely insane to me .
I laughed nervously. "Mrs Adam, I'm not pregnant.""Yes Fatima, you are!" She insisted.
"Okay let me ask you, why do you say that?" I folded my hands to my chest and waited for her analysis."First, you're glowing, secondly your eyes are insanely white, thirdly you have been holding your breath like you want to puke, Also its obvious with the way you're gripping the desk that your dizzy. Need more?"
She was very observant I give her that but that does not mean I am pregnant.
"My face is glowing because I changed a new cream, I'm using makari now. My eyes have always been white.Yes I feel like vomiting and I'm dizzy because I have been sitting in this class for two periods straight. But that does not mean I am in anyway pregnant."
She smiled and not the 'you're off the hook' smile, more like 'I still think I am right' smile.
"I will go to the hospital if I were you Fatima. Just to be sure."
And then she walked out.
"Its not possible."
Because if I'm pregnant then I'm officially dead.-----
