Three months later and I honestly can't say anything about how my life had been.  I was a few weeks away from my eighteenth birthday.  And of course I was growing more and more rebellious.  I started staying out late now.  My parents do complain but whenever I mentioned that it was because of school they just allowed me to go.  And honestly they won't think twice about it as we were approaching our WAEC period.

The death of Dorcas took a toll on the Divas, especially Tabitha,  Dorcas was as close to a best friend to her than any of us.

She had grown more quite,it was quite frightening and she no longer cared about some things like she used to.

We got the more detailed story a few weeks later  from Seyi.  Dorcas was her cousins.  Shocking because we never knew.  Tabitha knows of course.
Dorcas was not found near the garden as announced. She was found at the express way along Mabushi.  Yes Mabushi Niger state.

Apparently she told Tabitha  she was meeting with a new guys she met on Instagram. She was very excited about their outing and refused to heed to the  complains and concerns of Tabitha.

The guy was what they call  a ritualist and he actually actually chopped her into pieces. He was on his way out of Abuja with her body in the bout of his car when the police stopped his car.  She was found chopped and already  extremely cold.

The story was chilling and apart from Tabitha  been muttering "No one should leave the circle of Alhajis we know. " She was pretty much quiet.

It was quiet and we mourn her for a while when Seyi introduced us to Shisha.  I couldn't take it at first because whenever I took a sip I ended up coughing and heaving but then to make it easier fie me.  She brought another type.  It was long like a pen and it was called Shisha pen. That was easier as it doesn't really provide that much smoke.

Seyi on the other hand was a pro. She could even display a few styles on how the smoke leaves her mouth.

It was going on for a few weeks before she introduced drugs to the equation. Initially I didn't want to smoke it.  But with peer pressure which I think only applies to me.  Basma only uses  the type of Shisha that looked like a perfume bottle.

When Seyi introduced drugs she refused to take and only took her flavours which included vanilla and chocolate.  Me on the other hand tried it and believe me it was the nicest thing ever.  The euphoric feeling was good and I didn't feel like stopping even for a slight second.

By the time I reached home I was Hugh,  wasted,  I was sure I was staggering and my mom did  notice as I was slurring my words slightly.
She asked me about it.

"Yesterday when you came back,  you were walking sluggishly. I allowed you to rest before I asked you. " She paused and then gave me a look over.

"Fatima l don't know if the freedom we give you now is too much,  you have started coming back late and then yesterday you looked like someone that was drunk.  What did you take? "

I swear I could work as a professional liar as immediately when she complained.  I had an excuse up my sleeves.

"Oh Mamana,  we had a biology lab session and we were mixing some chemicals. We experimented and it blasted. We were all  lightheaded and the teacher explained that its one of the side effects. " I was speaking utter rubbish. I was an art student. But I knew my mom wouldn't suspect a thing that was why.

"That was very unprofessional if the teacher.  What if something had happened? " There was no longer any look of suspect on her face rather Of concern.

With a smile on my face.  "Its okay mom,  look at me now.  I'm okay aren't I? ” She was still concerned but she just nodded and that was it.

                                  *  *  *  *  *
"How are you feeling? " Basma asked immediately sgw saw me.  I was pretty crazy the Other day.

"I'm fine but my mom suspected me,  so I had to come up with an excuse. "I lamented the story to her and she sighed and look at me disapprovingly.

"Don't do it again Fatima,  I'm telling you its not a good habit. " She scolded and with a roll of my eyes. I dragged her to class.

Another  Shisha was brought,  I didn't take it, not  because I didn't  want to but because I couldn't risk  getting high two days in a row.  My mom wouldn't accept that excuse anymore.  I was smart enough to know that.

She and Tabitha  took the drugs and although Seyi wasn't wasted,  probably because she was used to it already.  Tabitha on  the other hand was out.  She slept through first and second period.  She was excused because well.... She's Tabitha.
During the last period was when I was summoned to the dean's office.

"Miss Bukar.  You were given scholarship on merit. Well your grades are failing. You have to step up or else your scholarship will be terminated. "
Well fuck me!
