They all knew that this first day of walking was going to be the worst. They had no idea where they were going, only going on a hunch and instinct. They terrain was rough, it was mostly sloped with some flat spots and tons of boulders sticking out and holes. They had to be careful not twist an ankle.
"Liz stay between me and Zach and follow my exact steps" said Mike.
"We don't need anyone with a twisted ankle" said Mike.
They walked and walked sometimes stopping for a break. Mike and Zach could go without stopping but they didn't want to tire Liz out. Liz never said she needed a break so Mike or Zach would say its time for a break so she wouldn't feel bad.
They stopped at one point and this time ate a little. Lizzie though was looking up this fairly large tree with big branches.
"What?" asked Zach.
"If I climb this I can probably see for awhile and see for awhile" said Liz.
"No" said Zach, 'We don't need you hurting yourself."
"I want to do something, I haven't doen anything yet, except cause this whole thing!" she yelled very upset and she had tears in her eyes.
Before they could reply, she darted for the tree and began to climb.
"Liz!" said Mike.
"This is not your fault" said Zach.
She didn't respond, but kept climbing. Mike ran to the tree and watched her carefully, ready to catch her. She got as high as she could before the branches where to small.
"What do you see!" yelled Mike.
Zach was now watching to.
She said nothing and began to climb
"Be careful" said Zach.
She got to a low enough branch, that Mike could grab her and bring her down.
"So?" asked Mike
"Nothing" she said as she walked away and sat on a rock and cried.
Zach sadden. Mike walked over to her and got down to her level.
"We are going to get out of this, I am not going to let anything happen to you" said Mike.
"This is not your fault" said Zach.
Liz turned around to look at him
"Its no one's fault except Leo's fault, you need to promise me from now on, your aren't going to blame this on yourself." said Zach.
"But if it wasn't for me be captured by him, you to wouldn't be here" said Liz.
"Listen, Zach's right its not your fault and I don't want you to think that ever again, promise us" said Mike.
She looked at Mike and back at Zach.
"I promise" she said softly.
Mike went to hug her. They then began to walk some more.
"This is going to be a long walk home" said Liz.
"Yes, but together" said Zach taking her hand.
