Chapter 13: You Didn't Mean To

Zach, Mike, Liz, and now Leo walked. All the detail that Leo could give was follow the road. They had no need to hide in the woods, so they stayed on the road. They walked all day. Mike never suggested any stops this time. He was walking fast to with Leo in tow. Leo walked with a horrible limp and him clutching his bad hand that Mike crushed. Leo never said anything, infact no one said anything. They had no water or food. Finally Zach suggested they stop.

"Mike, slow down and we need to stop" said Zach, "We have no water or food."

"Im tired" said Liz "and I feel light headed" she started to fall over. Zach grabbed her before she fell over and sat her down a rock

"Just rest" said Zach

"Ok, ya" said Mike.

They stopped and sat down on the side of road.

"I will make a fire" said Zach.

Mike put leo against a tree and tired him around it.

Mike got the pot and went over to the creek and scooped up some water. He then took out the knife and tried to stab from fish but they were little.

Meanwhile Zach was making a fire and Liz looked over at Leo.

"I know you didn't mean to kill you wife...." said Liz.

Zach looked up, Mike also turned around.

"It happened and then you were nervous and scared and I know you didn't want to take us, but you thought you had no other choice. I know you were eventually going to kill us, but you didn't want to and thinking about" finished Liz.

Leo didn't respond, he just stared at her and contemplation.

Zach was shocked, he never thought about any of that. Mike came over.

"Liz! Don't talk to him" said Mike angry.

"Mike why?" said Liz back.

"Because I said so!" said Mike

Mike was very angry, she has never seen him angry, and he hasn't yelled at her yet.

"Mike calm down" said Zach.

Mike pushed Zach away put the pot of water down and went back to the creek to get some fish.

Zach smiled at Liz.

"Liz come here" said Zach.

Liz walked over to Zach.

"Listen to me" said Zach, "I know that all you said is true, but that doesn't matter, don't talk to him, you don't need to stick up for him. What he did was wrong."

"I know what he did was wrong, I just think..... Well I don't know! That has been nagging at me" said Liz, "I really just don't know ok!" she yelled and cried.

"Liz, Im sorry I didn't mean it in a bad way" said Zach.

She stormed off.

"Great!" said Zach.

Zach: Things were falling apart real fast. Liz was extremely upset and I have no clue why she said those things to Leo. I know Liz is the most caring and kind person I know and she trys to always pull the best out things and is nice to everyone, but I guess I don''t know either. Mike was so pissed. I am actually afraid he is going to beat Leo to death. Of course Leo derverses that but Mike can't do that, he could be charged with something and that would just push Liz over the edge. We also have no food or water and Liz is sick I know it. Its only a matter of time before some gets real sick.

Zach looked over at Leo.

"Thanks Jack***" said Zach.

Leo just stared back. Thats all Leo ever did never said anything just stared. This man was insane

Mike soon came back with some fish.

"Where's Liz?" asked Zach.

"I don't know, I thought she was with you" said Mike.

"No, she got upset and stormed off" said Zach.

They both turned around and looked.

"LIZ!" yelled Mike.

No response.

They both ran in towards the direction Liz went.

"LIZ!" Mike and Zach both screamed in panic.

Mike then spotted her on the ground.

"LIZ!" he yelled and ran towards to her.

She was just laying there. She had passed out.

He kneeled down next to her and put his hand behind her head. She slowly sat up.

"What happened?" asked Zach.

"I felt real dizzy and just fell over" said Liz.

"Ok, lets get you some water" said Mike as he picked her up. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He wrapped her arms her.

"Zach go check on Leo" said Mike

Zach ran off. When Zach got to the fire. Leo was out of the ropes, but hadden gotten to the guns yet.

"Hey!" screamed Zach

Leo tried to run, but couldn't run fast. Zach ran up and knocked his legs out from underneath him

"You aren't going anywhere you ******* Jack***" said Zach.

Mike came up and saw the scene. Zach though had it under control. He grabbed Leo and pulled him to his feet and threw him against the tree and then tied him up again.

Mike put Liz up against a tree. He then checked the water it was boiling. He pulled it off, but had to let it cool. He then cut the small fish open and walked to over to Liz. 

"Here this will make you feel better" said Mike handing the piece of fish. She took it and swallow it. It actually wasn't that bad.

"Listen I am sorry I yelled at you" said Mike

"Its ok, I understand" said Liz.

"Ya I know, but I shouldn't yell I have no reason to" said Mike.

"I love you" said Liz, "I wouldn't survive this with out you."

Mike smiled "I love you to" he kissed her forehead.
