A Long Walk Home

Chapter 16: Going Home

The man in car called 911 and less than 15 minutes, police cars where eveywhere, the were sheriffs, dectetives, fireman, and medics everywhere. Shortly after news crew arrived. Liz was overwhelemed, she began to cry.

While they were waiting for the police. They were all so happy, they couldn't stop talking and Liz was crying from happiness and just smiling.

"We are going home" said Liz so happy and crying.

"Yes, yes we are" said Zach.

"WE ARE GOING HOME!" yelled Mike to the sky and just screamed, then Zach and Liz both just screamed.

The first thing when police came was asked about Leo. They told them and he was immediately put in the back of an ambulance with a police escort and sent off. The news crew was being held at bay by police. Things were crazy no wonder Liz was crying. The were alone for days and now all this was just to much, but she was also overwhelemed with joy. They also told the police a brief short story of what happened.

"Well we are out back and we saw Leo with the body and tried to get a better look, then he disappeared and then all of the sudden he had Liz, he said come with him who he is dead, so of course we did and we drove for a long time, and then a long time this dirt road. He put us in a shack and then Liz was able to escape through a hole and then he came back and we were able to over power him. We got supplies from his house and then walked because his truck was broken and then he found us, we got in a gun fight and then I took him down. We captured him, then walked longer and ended up here" explained Mike.

The detectives were speachless.

"Well its all over now, you will be home soon"

They left.

Liz began to cry again, she was so overwhelmed.

Hey its ok" said Mike hugging her as he held her on his lap in the ambulance, "We are going home."

The EMT came and was going to get a IV going for Mary, because she was so dehydrated.

She pulled back he arm.

"Liz, its fine ok, it will help" said Mike

Liz was so sick and he emotions were running so high. Mike and Zach's were to. They all just didn't know what to think.

Liz let the EMT put the IV in. Then they ambulance started and headed out. They were heading back to Pittsburgh, PA.

"Where exactly where we and how long where we gone" asked Zach.

"You were six hours away in Northern PA, and around 10 days" said the EMT

'Wow" said Mike, "It feels like years."

"Really does" said Liz falling asleep.

Mike kissed her fore head.

Back at home the head detectives who was the lead in the investigation. Got the call that Mike, Zach and Liz have been found.

Once he told this news to the Wright family. Everyone freaked. They were crying and laughing and screaming and talking.

The ride was long of course, Liz slept most of the way. Mike and Zach talked.

"I really thought we were going to get out of this" said Zach

"To tell you the truth either did I, or at least I thought that we were going to be bringing Liz's body home" said Mike.

Zach was silent, he thought the same thing.

"If that was the case, I would have wanted to die as well" said Mike

"Me to" said Zach.

"You know this is a pretty amazing story, this was heard across the country and people everywhere know about it" said the EMT.

"Why?" asked Mike.

"You vanished without a trace" said the EMT

"I guess your right, I thought bout that but it never really sunk in" said Mike.

"Well your finally going home" said the EMT

"Ya a place I never thought I would see again" said Mike.
