Three years passed since the incident with the hidden room in Hyrule Castle, and Ganondorf had not returned to Hyrule with his mother on any of the trips. Nadia was worried the first few times he didn't make an appearance, but after a while, gave up the thought that he would ever return. The things he had seen that night was far more than he should have ever seen. So to take her mind off of what happened that night and the disappearance of her friend, she turned to her training. Her training to be a proper lady so she could be married off easily when she reached adulthood at the age of seventeen, as well as her training with her father and the knights when she reached the age of thirteen. She hunted regularly for the castle, as well as went on quests with Rilen to fight bokoblin camps that would pop up every now and then in the countryside.
Finally one day, Nadia's fourteenth birthday, she turned to Rilen during one of their rides. "Hey Rilen?"
He looked at the young woman and smiled. "What is it?"
She stopped her horse. "I want to know the truth."
He stopped and looked at her confused. "What do you mean?"
"You know exactly what I mean, don't lie to me." She said firmly. "That night. The room. The diary. You had never been that way with me before, and you didn't even care I cried. I want to know the truth about that night and what Ganondorf and I found."
He frowned. "No."
"Rilen, please!" She snapped. "It's been three years and we didn't bring up that night once and it's been eating me away inside! It's most likely the reason the prince hasn't come since either!"
"You don't understand anything that's happening, and it's going to stay that way." He said gruffly.
"No, I want you to tell me!" She shouted. "Something happened that night, and you've treated me differently ever since! Tell me the truth about that diary!"
"Enough!" He boomed. He watched her jump and look away. He let out a sigh. "Nadia, there are some things I can never explain to you. If I told you...Then both of us would be killed. You don't understand the weight of the situation."
Nadia shook her head. "No, of course I don't, I'm just a stupid kid after all."
"Nadia, don't be like that..." He said softly. "You know that I would tell you if I could..."
"Would you?" She looked at him. "Because I don't think you would. You're keeping more from me than you're letting me believe and I've kept my mouth shut for three years."
He let out a sigh. "I will tell you what I can. You are much more important than you realize...How, I can't say. But it has to do with your great grandmother and what she did a hundred years ago." He shook his head. "But you're right. I have been treating you differently. I've been much more cold and distant with you, and I have been treating everything we do like a job instead of bonding like I should, and I'm sorry. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."
Nadia refused to look at him, letting out a sigh. "Of course I do...I just want you to be my friend again...It's been really hard for me..."
"I know it has." He said. "If I could take that night back, I would. I would have stayed with you and none of this would have happened...I blamed you, when it was my responsibility..."
Nadia shook her head. "No, it was all of us...Let's just get back to our mission." She continued to ride off.
When the two of them returned from fighting off a small group of bokoblins on the edge of Hyrule, they were greeted by a royal messenger. "Lady Nadia, you have been summoned by King Hyrule."
