As the sun's rays began illuminating through the celestial sphere, the doctors have started working.

Considering Hoseok's age, weight, and condition, he was to be taking combinational chemotherapy first. Dr. Wexler has arranged his cycle to be 500mg of doses twice a week for at least 6 months.

The procedure of injecting it wasn't as severe since Hoseok was already unconscious. However, it took a longer time than a typical dose.

First, a needle was used to put the catheter (a tiny, plastic tube used to inject the chemo into the bloodstream) into a vein in his forearm. Then after a few minutes, the needle was taken out, leaving the catheter behind.

"Following this systematic procedure will contribute to any further plans. Chemotherapy stops the growth of the tumor and shrinks it. That way, his surgery would be simpler. Plus, the typical step of radiation therapy might not be needed. That depends on how his body responds to the treatment," the doctor explained to a trainee in his medical team.

While that was happening, Jimin was in the bathroom of the hotel room, getting ready to visit his friend. He was vigorously battling to shut the pounding beast in his head down. He sustained himself with fabricated strength to face Hoseok's condition. And despite the demonic voice in his head, a very vague part of him continuously injected ease into his soul. Ease strong enough to make him long for his friend, ache to see his face, and hear the sound of his voice

When he later arrived at the designated hospital room, his eyes immediately fell onto Hoseok's peaceful appearance. His delicately closed eyes, slightly opened mouth, and serene expression brought tears into Jimin's almond-shaped eyes. They glided down his face like a trickling avalanche of shedding tears. Never in his life did he picture such a situation where his brother would be lying in a hospital bed with such poor prognosis. It feels like his past reincarnated, but ten times as atrocious now that its Hoseok.

On the contrary, Hoseok's subconscious was perceiving a totally different image. It saw phantoms of Jimin grinning and beaming at it. The sight was so perfect that it couldn't help but smile too.

Sooner, his subconscious couldn't withstand the distance between them. It longed for Jimin. It wanted to laugh with him and be the cause of his laughter. So it tried reaching for Jimin with all its strength. Yet, Jimin seemed too far-off for its grasp.

On the other side, however, Jimin noticed Hoseok's heart rate increase. He panicked and frantically called for help.

"What happened?" asked Dr. Wexler as he ran in, followed by an equally as panicked nurse.

"His heart rate increased. It was 50, and now it sped to 75," Jimin explained.

The doctor took a look for himself before smiling softly at Jimin and saying, "That means that his immune system started responding to the chemotherapy, don't worry," he reassured.
